Starting with Fantastic Four #50...and then having that memory tarnished with religious shame. Ouch.
I cannot believe you guys spent multiple minutes bashing Claremont's X-Men, though. Yet another ouch.

Claremont's X-men was just never my cup of tea... I just can't pretend that I like something when I really don't. That's why I also said, "If you like it, if it's your thing, then more power to ya!"
There's a lot of things on which I can agree with people-- Claremont ain't one of 'em.

Good discussion guys. Of anything he has done Sable is the most personal and closest to capturing the essence of "who" Grell is as a person and writer. Sable stands strong today as being a great classic as it really stands up as a timeless tribute of Grell's skill as writer/artist. I was lucky to spend time talking with Iron Mike at a convention because idiots were walking past and never stopping. Best 30+ minutes ever and walked away with a Warlord and Tarzan print and memories of a unique individual. Grell and jungles are a joyous connection!

I liked it at the time. But I now find it almost unreadable. His run on Iron Fist is one of the worst written books I've read.

Michael Fleisher is horribly underrated.

The worst part of these podcasts is that I have to wait 30 days for the next part. I bought the first dozen or so Sable issues. The first few issues were so so but I really liked the origin arc. I like the insights you both had.

Michael Fleisher is horribly underrated. Unlike Chris Claremont's writing, I find myself liking Fleisher's more and more as time goes by.
