Fantastic! I own both it and #94. They're both low-mid grade by my estimation, based on my year-and-a-half working in and managing comic book stores, but these days, it seems like what I would consider a VG+ is now actually closer to a FN, so what the hell do I know? I don't plan on selling them, but I do like when my collection goes up in value due to absolutely no effort on my part.

I'll know this era of speculation is in its nadir when I see "collectible" comics selling on the Home Shopping Network again like I did in the 90s...

HSN put him in a hotel room for a weekend to sign 5,000 books at (I think) $5 a pop. Not a bad payout.

Is that where you bought all of your Youngblood #1's?

I actually have never owned a Youngblood #1. The first Image comic I ever bought off the stands was the debut issue of Grell's Shaman's Tears. I did buy and sample a couple of those initial Image books a couple years back when the Image documentary from SyFy dropped, but I got them at one of the LCS annual warehouse blowouts where it was fill a short box for $25 and I stuffed a few WildC.A.T.S and Shadowhawks and the likes in the box. They are now in my discard storage bin with doubles and other books to gift, sell or trade.

To me though, Wandavision has caused some pretty rampant spec. A couple key people on Youtube posed a theory one week and the next, people were paying $50-60 on Ebay for a book that was once $10-15 tops. They seem legitimate folks but they can clearly manipulate the market if they choose. Like any hobby, there are varying levels of fandom and I would argue that comics, within the last decade, has an influx of newer collectors. They come with base knowledge or low level knowledge and feed off what other perceived experts tell them. It's crazy and does suck because even though a certain character may never appear ever (or for years to come), that initial bump tends to never truly fall back. It becomes a book people know about and convince themselves to care because it is a first appearance, so thus it has to be worth $30-50 or more. Comics are a totally unregulated market. There is no one there to put the brakes on market manipulation or rampant speculation driving up prices. At least the last time comics had an investment bubble, we still had Overstreet as an official voice of reason. Now ebay determines the market place, and an individual transaction between two people (one, if it's shill bidding) can set the going price for a book. It's the wild wild west right now, which means buyers need to beware, and sellers/investors will be rewarded for cleverness and innovation. Who's to say some seller isn't sending a Youtuber $50 to push a specific theory? There's no rule against it.

I'm kind of annoyed that Thor Annual # 1 ( first appearance of Hercules) has jumped up in price from an already pricey start. It appears that Zeus is in the next Thor movie and he also has his first appearance in that book. I was hoping to snag a lower grade for a cheaper price, and now it seems to be out of reach.

I'm utterly lost as to why Adventures of Superman #463 is commanding upwards of $50. Did Superman and The Flash race in the Justice League movie or something?

I'm not seeing any sold listings yet at that price but it definitely seems to be on the upswing. Superman and Flash do indeed have a race in the post credits scene of Justice League, but I'm not sure if that scene is in the Snyder Cut?

Re-reading my own review of this issue, the only other importance I can attribute to it is the first Post-Crisis appearance of Red Kryptonite, but I doubt that would rouse the speculators.

I don't use key collector (it's subscription based) but you can sometimes get a page to come up in a google search, which I did for this issue here: AoS #463according to the notes it's the first race against Wally West, and it should range from $1 to $18 in price/value. If it's going for more than that, there might be something else driving it, but that's what the speculator bible app says. -M

I don’t know why spects should care. Wally West isn’t even Flash any more.

I don’t know why spects should care. Wally West isn’t even Flash any more. But Wally West is the Flash for that generation of readers who now are of an age to afford spending on "their" nostalgia based memories.

I will go with that explanation if you can point to an uptick in sales of the Wally West Flash series
