I made a major buy and completed a long sought after collection yesterday. I won't reveal the book until it's in my possession but I was shocked at how low the price was that I won it for. Well now I'm hoping it's your Thor run! I wish. It's something more modern.

If we're taking random guesses, I'll say a modern Superman book, maybe #75 (Death of Superman) in the black bag sealed too.

I like the guesses but I'm taking any Image book off the table. I don't want to pay more any more than 1 buck for those books , and I'd rather pay less than that. I already have the black bag Superman #75 , but it's been opened for over 30 years.

Based on what I was selling at Champion City yesterday, toy tie in comics are in demand and commanding decent prices right now. I sold a bunch of toy tie in comics I picked up at a tag sale about 3-4 years back for less than a buck each (seller had $1 each on comics but gave me a deal as I bought a bunch (something like 25 comics for $20), and realized some very decent prices.
The Modern Comics 3 issue Voltron series were in that group, and I sold the set for $60 yesterday. DC's first issue of M.A.S.K. I sold for $25. Even Sectaurs #1 and Saga of Crystar #1 from Marvel sold at $5 a pop after languishing in dollar bins unsellable for years. I sold a bunch of ROM issues at $3 a pop as well, without people even blinking at the prices. I did make a deal on the Voltron set (I had $75 as an asking price but I was willing to take anything $50 and over), but it was that buyer's third trip to my table buying things, so I was more than willing to give him a deal.
I could have sold toy comics all day long if I had more though. (I also could have sold anything Battlestar Galactica if I had it, as I had 2 guys cosplaying Colonial Warriors buying any and everything Galactica they found, even if they had it. One of them is the guy who bought the MASK, Sectaurs and Crystar stuff I had).
This is the first comic oriented show I had been set up at as a vendor in a few years (my last show was a video game convention with a side of comics), so it was interesting to see what people were hunting, buying, and willing to spend on stuff.

A lot of the Star Comics are actually achieving fairly decent prices. Nothing ludicrous except for the Thundercats and Ewoks/Droids books, but you can move a lot of the Star books at $5 a pop at a lot of shows. -M

I had a couple of Spider-Ham issues that I bought as a child in the late 90's/early 00's, never thinking in a million years that they'd be worth anything. Same with issue #1 of Futurama and two of Valiant's "Adventures Of The Super Mario Bros" comics.
Really hope I do eventually find my first comic book collection when we move...

I wonder if Spire comics will ever increase in value (I think the Johnny Cash one got a minor uptick in sales after his death). On a different note, I've seen Whitman/Gold Key comics based off of Hanna-Barbera books start increasing in price in recent years as well.

On a different note, I've seen Whitman/Gold Key comics based off of Hanna-Barbera books start increasing in price in recent years as well. Hanna Barbera books are ridiculously hot right now, especially Scooby Doo and Space Ghost. At the show I was at 2 weeks ago (Jim & Dan's) someone had an asking price of $850 on a raw 9.0 copy of this issue of Space Ghost... and I saw a 1.5 copy of the Gold Key Scooby Doo #1 go for over $100 on the Lonestar auction before the pandemic and the sharp increase in prices it caused. -M
