I can picture the scene in my head but short of sorting through all my back issues I can't find a way to recall the issue to my mind and it's driving me crazy. In preparation for picking up the latest Usagi issue the solicitation reminded me of a classic story where Usagi traveled back to the Adachi Plain previously and encountered the body of one of Lord Hikiji's soldiers from the battle. I can't remember if it was just a nightmare, or a fever dream or if it was supposed to be real but Usagi ended up fighting that reanimated corpse...I'd love to revisit that story before reading the new one but I can't remember which one it was!
Anyone remember which issue this was in?

I don't recall if this was an actual story, but it is similar to two stories I can think of.
In one story Usagi, as a kid studying under Katsuichi, goes to a battlefield and steals a sword. The corpse of the samurai haunts him until Usagi returns it.
There is another story where Usagi spends the night in an ancient battlefield and ghosts of the dead samurai appear to reanact the battle. One gets his head chopped off and Usagi returns the head to the samurai's bones.

I think it's the second story I was remembering as returning the head was the image that was pretty strong in my mind. |
