Watched the first two episodes last night and it was OK, but nothing special. The second was definitely the better of the two, although that may just have been a function of them needing to set things in motion in the first. Things I don't like about it: 1. The violence toward small animals, which is cruel and gratuitous, not amusing as they probably think it is. Unlike Sparky dying horribly in WandaVision, this serves zero purpose other than shock value from being "edgy". 2. The "adult" language, which really serves no purpose other than allowing them to call it Mature to pull in adults who wouldn't normally watch a cartoon. 3. The Super-Adaptoid. I'm not sure what vibe they're trying to develop with him (I have a guess), but it's off-putting and not funny. Wasn't planning on continuing with it, but I may tune into the third based on shaxper saying it was an improvement over the first couple.

1. The violence toward small animals, which is cruel and gratuitous, not amusing as they probably think it is. Unlike Sparky dying horribly in WandaVision, this serves zero purpose other than shock value from being "edgy". I think the problem is that they don't want MODOK killing people, so they use animals to demonstrate his cruelty and lack of empathy. Yeah, not the best message. But he's also a horrendous husband and father, and that's clearly going to change by the end of the series. The third episode talked quite a bit about his always trying to solve problems by blasting things (which he ends up doing gratuitously, fair warning), but that may signal another change in store for him. Yeah, this thing is clearly struggling to earn it's MA rating. It wants to attract the Family Guy crowd, but the content is mostly PG13 at worst, so they add in stuff that doesn't need to be there to keep it "mature". It's a little desperate. He's actually one of my favorite things about the first two episodes. I find him quite funny. It's nothing must-see yet, but the third episode was very entertaining and hints at a bigger focus to the series than the predictable comic-setup of a modern corporation buying out AIM (which did not interest me at all). Fair warning, the violence/bloodshed is certainly bigger by the end of the episode.

We're now eight episodes in with only two left, and I'm still not sure what to think. It's entertaining enough, there is a plot advancing, and there remains a very human story at its core, but I'm still not totally in love with it. Amber really enjoys it though and keeps asking to watch more.

Finally finished MODOK tonight.
Sigh.
So we spend all this time wondering how the conflicts in this series are going to wrap up by the final episode only to learn that they don't. The whole thing ends on a lazy cliffhanger without providing much of a climax at all. And, for anyone wondering, the Marvel Universe references dried up episodes earlier.
In the end, it's sort of kind of entertaining, and sort of kind of hits on a more meaningful level, but nothing memorable nor of substance gets delivered by the close.
B-: Watching it wouldn't hurt, but there are better choices.

I gave up after two episodes. I may watch it some day. But there are so many shows and so little time.

I gave up in the middle of the first. I may go back to it eventually, but I’d read comparisons to Venture Bros (which I love) and it did not feel like that at all. I also don’t really care for Patton Oswalt, which doesn’t help.

I gave up after two episodes. I may watch it some day. But there are so many shows and so little time. I did as well. It just wasn't compelling enough for me to keep watching, and once summer hits, I am busy with too many things to be able to waste time with mediocre programs.
