Was going to drop Hulu at the end of April, but...
Yeah, I'll definitely be watching this.

The thing that shocked me is that the first syllable of M.O.D.O.K. is pronounced like the last syllable of Depeche Mode instead of like the first syllable of Mod Squad. I always said the latter.

I have always had a liking for MO' the DOK ever since 1st seeing him. The visual is so cool and yet such an absurd concept for a supervillain that you gotta love the big ol' lunkhead. And if you told me that my man Mo' would become so, wait for it....BIG and headline his own comic book mini-series and cartoon series as the friggin' star, I would have said you were crazy and just making fun of me because I like M.O.D.O.K. as a villain. It makes my head want to EXPLODE in anticipation of how much fun this may be. Only sad part is I have to wait and hope for a DVD release ASAP!

Watched the first episode tonight. Very tired retreads of old sitcom formulas and uni-dimensional characters, but the animation was superb, the throw-away references were fun, and an underlying serious/emotional component to the show just might be what ends up setting it apart. My biggest problem was I truly didn't like any of the characters nor find them funny other than the faceless AIM Agents and the Super Adaptoid, though naming the most memorable faceless agent "Gary" only further emphasizes just how borrowed pretty much every aspect of this show seems to be (in Robot Chicken Star Wars, "Gary" was the naive and endearing faceless stormtrooper who often stole the spotlight, and the name and characterization are pretty much the same here).
I'll keep watching in the hope that the show grows into its own after the first episode, but I was definitely repeatedly checking how much time the episode had left this time around.

BTW the one moment of the first episode that still has me snickering in hindsight was Fing Fang Foom's restaurant, where he cooks your steak right in front of you. The other references to MCU characters felt a little more forced and unfunny.

Watched the second episode tonight. While the humor felt slightly fresher (and it helped that most of the jokes this time weren't spoiled by the trailer), it's neither the comedy nor the Marvel premise/connection that is working right now (while the Marvel references were frequent and plentiful, they always felt forced and unnecessary). Instead, what this show proved to be this time around was surprisingly emotional and intelligent. They actually wrote a decently logical time-travel episode (there were logic gaps, sure, but they really USED the time travel premise to tell a unique story), and they gave it more heart in its short run time than you'll find in most serious shows and even full-length movies.
I'm still not sure I like the unusual balance this show is struggling to achieve at this point, but there was enough that I truly respected about this episode to keep watching. It isn't very funny, it isn't very MODOK, and the Marvel affiliation isn't working very well either, but everything else this show is doing seems pretty impressive in spite of all that.

Episode 3 is the first legitimately good episode of the series. I laughed out loud for the first time and did so often. The Marvel Universe references were better earned/used this time, and they even threw a few references out there that I didn't get (Master Pandemonium is someone I'll be looking up!). Best of all, the episode ended on a cliffhanger for the first time, leaving us with a big mystery that either isn't solvable at this point or requires a level of Marvel knowledge I simply don't have (I really need someone else here to watch this episode and tell me!). Whereas the series drifted for its first two episodes, it really seems to be going somewhere now.

I watched the first couple of episodes and while I found it entertaining, I can't help but think it could be better if I knew MODOK as a character (which I don't...at all).

I watched the first couple of episodes and while I found it entertaining, I can't help but think it could be better if I knew MODOK as a character (which I don't...at all). They're writing him as a pretty generic evil genius/would-be conqueror as of episode 3, and obviously the family stuff is all invented for the show. I'm not sure you're missing much.

He's pretty cool in that though.
