Here is the finale where the previous 3 issues have been building towards. It is the ultimate fight for survival with 2 longley anticipated arrivals providing the last minute save while Mariko stirs the hidden stores of courage within the villagers to stand up united for fighting back.
Jotaro and Katsuichi leap into the fray turning the tide from loss to winning. We see Jotaro saving Kenichi as he shows the depths of his true heritage as Usagi's unknown son. Usagi confronts Kato to reclaim his swords while allowing Kenichi credit for stopping the assassins plan for killing the emissary. We also feel the hurt and sorrow of Usagi seeing Jotaro embrace Kenichi in triumph as Usagi realizes that he must leave once more for the sake of all those he loves and cherish.
Yet it all ends with Usagi sharing joyous moments walking and talking with his son as the leave the village behind. Rather than giving in to the dark, Usagi embraces the light in happily sharing these precious moments providing solace to his pains. As the trio separate Usagi knows his sensei is providing the necessary components for his son which Usagi cannot. We end with our Ronin preparing to take one last step into his past before moving into the future.
This 4 parter was thrilling, emotional, exciting and excellent storytelling. What an incredible animated movie this could be as an introductory to kick off an ongoing Usagi movie series.
