HBO Max has gotten into audio dramas...and so far I'm loving it! I'm way more familiar with movie serials than the old time radio dramas but from what I've heard so far this stacks up pretty well; there's a great, atmospheric soundtrack, evocative sound effects a great voice cast and a story that is a load of fun. Though never expressly set in the 30's or 40's it keeps that golden age feel to it with its plot about Batman going legit and joining the GCPD...but still keeping is masked persona which was a really fun idea and with Catwoman and Tow-Face waiting in the wings it's a great introduction. I think my favorite part however was the in universe radio commercials they used to break up the scenes as they made it feel like you were really hunkered down listening on an old radio.
