So the animated adaptation of the fist Critical Role campaign-The Legend of Vox Machina is debuting on Amazon Prime on February 4. 2022. Based on an online streaming D&D featuring a bunch of voice actors.
They launched a kickstarter to fund an animated special for the series with a funding goal of $750K. They reached their goal in 1 hour, and ended up raising $11 million, so the special became a 24 episode (2 season) animated series. The title sequence debuted today at NYCC. My wife and I got into Critical Role during the pandemic and have both become huge fans (Critters Unite!).
Here's the title sequence...
Is it February yet?

Also a big fan (for a bit longer) and I do find it interesting that for the cartoon the story had to be reworked a bit, because one of the players was no longer involved with Critical Role (but his character was in the Dark Horse comics which also were published long after he left the campaign.) I guess for the cartoon, it would take more involvement.

I guess for the cartoon, it would take more involvement. From what I understand the parting was less than amicable, but the stories they are focusing on (the Briarwood arc is the focus on season 1) are from after the character left, so it's just the first couple of episodes that serve as a set up of what happened prior to that arc that needed to be reworked to write Tiberius out. Honestly, both my wife and I both found the player a distraction during those early episodes, and especially for my wife didn't really become invested in the show until after he was gone, so really don't mind the "retcon" so to speak. -M
