So, they have a teaser for the sequel....
I finally saw the first. It wasn't my Captain Marvel; but, it was okay, for what it was. Hate the look of the costumes (somewhere, a PE class is missing their dodge balls).
Anyway, Helen Mirren? That will get me to view the next one, at some point.
Still waiting for Black Adam, though.

Ask, and ye shall receive.....
Doesn't look like I'm gonna be wild about this costume, from what little I can see.
What is wrong with cloth, Hollywood?
Oh well.
Big question is: will he have pointy ears?

Both looked pretty solid from what little they had to show and I loved the first Captain Marvel movie so more is good. I can't wait for Levi and the Rock to meet on screen.

I just wish they would tease us with story and not just visuals. I liked Shazam enough, and thought the cast did a good job, even when the story didn't work (the stuff with Billy's mom is too unrealistic, even for a comic book movie). I still hate the idea of calling him Shazam (I understand why; it just doesn't work), for the obvious reason, no matter what bad retcon Geoff Johns wrote. I liked the family aspect, though most of them were underdeveloped. Hope they can do more there, this time. The powers testing was fun. The climactic battle was the usual cliched CGI fest that just makes me tune out. The Marvel movies do it, too. I tend to enjoy the character moments more than the general plots, in these things, to varying degrees.
Anything with Helen Mirren is going to be good (Fiendish Plot of Dr Fu Manchu excepted), even if only for her portions. She looked like she was having a ball, which is why I enjoyed her in Reds.
Levi did a pretty good job and the kid playing Freddy was good. The others had moments, though I hated their concept of Sivana and Mark Strong was rather dull, there, compared to his work in things like Tinker tailor Soldier Spy and his previous work on British television (Prime Suspect, Sharpe). I just think he gets wasted in US productions and he gets lazy doing them.
If the Rock can turn it up, Black Adam could be very interesting, though I never thought he did evil villain well, even in wrestling and I wonder how well he will handle Black Adam's corruption. His charisma is going to make him want to like him; so, it will take a good script to handle that and make you be scared of him, as he is corrupted by power. I have a feeling that he could end up being like Loki, where he is turned babyface, because they can't really convey the evil well enough. Time will tell. I thought the JSA run with Black Adam kind of tread the line well, with that idea.
