Tell us who was a model member in October. What are we looking for? Service to the community, initiation of engaging conversations, having well-expressed insights, or just plain being friendly. Who makes this community a great place to be?
Previously, we have honored shaxper, jasoomian, mrp, bronzeagebrian. Most recently we honored Doctor Fate, a new member who right away created several engaging threads that helped two communities integrate. Our community grows continually, it seems, and a lot of behind the scenes do hard work worth recognizing. And of course, the most valuable piece of the community is the people who tell us interesting things about classic comics.
So go ahead and vote! And remember...
The M.M.M.s want you!
The process:
1) Each month a thread for voting will be started, usually within a few days of the start of the next month
2) Either nominate a poster or vote for a poster who has already been nominated by posting in the thread.
3) Each member may make at most one nomination in addition to at most one vote on another nominee.
4) Each nomination should include a brief (sentence, say) explanation. Votes may or may not include this.
5) Voting will conclude precisely 1 week after the thread opens, and the winner will be announced soon after.
Examples:
If the person you wanted to nominate has already been nominated, then just vote for that person.
If the person you want to nominate hasn't, then nominate them! Be sure to include an explanation
After your nomination, if another great candidate is nominated, go ahead and vote for them as well.
The fine print:
Voting will conclude when the thread creator gets around to saying it concludes, which may be shortly after that 1 week mark. You may treat rules 2-3 as allowing you to vote for two people, but only if precisely one of those has already been nominated. You may not vote for two new nominees or two already-nominated posters in this manner. Because that's likely too confusing, just vote for one poster. Any mistakes are due to infiltration of the thread by Hydra. The thread creator makes no mistakes, particularly not in counting. Due to liberal antidiscrimnation laws, voting is open to all registered members of the community, without regard to gender, race, species, nationality, or super-powers. Unless that superpower is invisibility. Because then you're probably a creep. Voters may use a secret identity to vote, but they may only vote under one identity. We thought that went without saying, but then we got votes from Ms. Marvel, Binary, Warbird, and Captain Marvel, and grew suspicious. The three-M logo may well by copyrighted by Marvel or something, but we consider this fair use. It has not been copyrighted by either the rapper or the candy, because their names sound more like MNM.
