Over at " Incredibly Strange Films", someone asked a question about these films... John Gray: "do we really need romance to take up 60%-80% of every movie we watch??"NO. As I scroll down this thread, I'm just reminded of some things, being a longtime comics reader...
Natasha (The Black Widow) never went near Bruce Banner. She may have tried to seduce Tony Stark, and she definitely seduced Clint Barton, and for several years was Matt Murdock's lover. But Bruce Banner? WTF?
Tony Stark may have fallen in love with Pepper Potts, but, he never laid a hand on her. His damaged heart kept him distant from women back then. And then she wound up actually falling for the big lug who was totally crazy about her... Happy Hogan. Meanwhile... the initial 18-PART origin story for "Captain Mar-Vell" was in large part a love triangle, between 2 people who deeply loved each other (Mar-Vell and Una) and their INSANE commanding officer, Yon-Rogg, who hated Mar-Vell and wanted Una, and didn't care how she felt about it. I mean, the SONOFAB**** endangered an inter-plantary espionage mission, just because he couldn't keep it in his pants!
And then there was Carol Danvers, who began to fall for Mar-Vell, before she ever found out he was an alien SPY. In the comics, that storyline WASN'T all that well-written for most of it. But I bet those 18 episodes would have made a TERRIFIC movie... if anyone had ever actually wanted to retell it.
I've long felt Carol was based on Raquel Welch. 🙂

OK, I<ll keep that idea in mind next time I read those comics.

Gene did those issues in 1967-68. She was just getting really popular at the time!
The crazy thing is, when Don Heck replaced Gene Colan (the reverse of what had happened on IRON MAN), the design work, the visual storytelling, and just plain THE WRITING got better. Unfortunately, John Tartaglione murdered the finished art 3 issues in a row.
When Vince Colletta is a HUGE improvement, you know there was a problem!

Daredevil, imported from Netflix, is a brilliant comic-turned-into-a-TV-series. I started rewatching it on a lark, and it hooked me after five minutes.

I had watched S1 and S2 when it was on Netflix, but never got around to finishing it. Just started S3 last week and am up to Ep3. Such a good show and really taking the sting out of the suck that was Iron Fist, JJ S3 (and S2, if I’m honest) and Defenders. I might even finally finish Luke Cage S2. I think I’m two eps from the end. Never did watch S2 of Punisher. The first was brutal and I while I could appreciate the craft that went into making it, I didn’t enjoy watching it.

I never got into even the first season of Punisher for that reason, but I might try it again.
