Watched a episode of the avengers assemble cartoon and a hulk agents of smash cartoon on demand earlier today both were good And I thought Rick Jones couldn't be a more annoying and pointless character in the comics, I watch this and along comes A-Bomb. Other than him, 3 episodes in and it is pretty entertaining.

I didn't like Teen Titans Go at first, but it's grown on me. They did an episode where Robin called on 3 other Robins for help (apparently the Tim Drake, Jason Todd and Carrie Kelly versions). And there's one where the Young Justice characters show up and tell the Titans they're too silly, and are giving super-heroes a bad name. So the Titans decide to go all Dark and Serious. Fun stuff.

Absorbing Man and Mockingbird show up on season 2 of S.H.I.E.L.D..
The Jack and Triumph Show is pretty hilarious two episodes in, if you're into that sort of thing (insult humor and puppetry).

Is it me or are Sundays just too jam packed? Simpsons, Family Guy, Bobs Burgers, Brooklyn 99, Walking Dead, Talking Dead, Comic Book Men, Last Week Tonight, Last Man on Earth, Madame Secretary, Once Upon a Time, Avengers Assemble, Hulk and the Agents of Smash, Teen Titans Go...plus when they start up again: Game of Thrones, Veep, Silicon Valley, The Librarians...I think the British shows Utopia and In the Flesh air on Sunday here when they're new...plus - when it's on - QI usually has their XL episode hit Youtube on Sunday...plus the Awards shows like the Oscars are on Sundays, plus this Sunday Space network's showing a Star Trek TOS marathon in honour of Leonard Nimoy (to add to the ones I just watched on Youtube for the same reason), in addition to a Leonard Willmore comedy special and The Night of Too Many Stars. Meanwhile Saturday - with Doctor Who and Orphan Black on break, and Saturday morning cartoons a thing of the past - is a complete wasteland.

Of that list I only watch the shows on Fox and HBO. And I often save the Fox cartoons for viewing on a Saturday morning. Speaking of Saturday morning, did anyone catch the 1943 Batman serial on TCM this morning? Looks like it's up on the website for a week if you have a cableco login -- www.tcm.com/watchtcm/movies/2034495/Electrical-Brain-The/

The Historia channel is unscrambled for a while, which means I'll get a head start on Vikings season 3!

Absorbing Man and Mockingbird show up on season 2 of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Mackenzie was in one of the SHIELD series as well, although he was a grey haired white guy. And naturally... there You Know Who and You Know Who as well, whose identities are too important to be revealed here! Should we mention Maria Hill, since she only has a cameo from time to time? Or the lady Sif? I wasn't too thrilled about Agents of Shield at first and even stopped recording the show right when it got interesting. I've since seen the errors of my ways!

Watched the premiere of Dig (on USA Network) that I DVRed earlier in the week. I am a sucker for speculative history conspiracy type stories, so this seemed right up my alley based on the promos I saw. Quite liked the concept and characters in the show, but it felt padded to reach 90 minutes so they could include the world premiere of USA exclusive footage for Furious 7 and lots of promos for series upcoming on USA, and there were a couple of spots where the episode dragged. If it had been edited tighter and an hour long, it would have been a more effective intro to the series. Still in all I liked it and will keep watching for a while to see if it delivers on the promise.

I also usually like that kind of stuff, but found the Dig pilot pretty boring. Probably gonna pass.

I don't count them as they were in the movies first (Hill and Sif). I've finished Season 1, so can't tell on MacKenzie and or others that have been mentioned.

I think we omitted the character the show opened with: Deathlok!
(Oh, and of course that guy who appeared in a few issues of Fantastic Four... Stan Lee!)

I'm really enjoying Agents of SHIELD right now because of its lack of a status quo. I really have no idea where the series is going, but the show's creators do seem to know, so it's all good.
The show's not shy about using Marvel's rich universe, either; that's something really cool. Most of the time, in the past, comic-book films and TV series seemed a bit embarrassed about their ignominous origins... Here, these origins are embraced.
The peril is that it could be overdone; introducing costumes would be a disaster in my opinion. But Stan and Jack built the Marvel universe as a SciFi one, and this translates quite well to the escreen without spandex.

I watched it when it first aired, and quite liked it. Our local library also got it in DVD and I enjoyed it on a second viewing as well. The companion book is worth taking a look at as well. -M
