Farrar, Sally and Clark were one of the first I thought of; I only decided to cut it b/c I'd have had three Superman romances, plus Jor-El and Lara on my final list. I loved that it was "real," as in canon, and therefore would become part of Clark's character.

So glad this one occurred to you, too. When I read this for the first time, I was amazed that Sally appeared just that one other time; this kind of melodrama seemed straight up Weisinger's alley. And that nutsy second story almost seems like it was meant to serve as a hurried wrap-up. Curious.

For reasons I don't understand, they dropped the ball on this one, a chapter in Clark's life that would have been so rich for exploration.

But what a great way to write a "what-if?" story without it being a hoax, a dream, or an imaginary story!
