THE SCARECROW IS HEADED TO FOX'S GOTHAM

BY ANTHONY COUTOFor those of you angry about too many Batman villains on FOX's Gotham, this news may frighten you: Scarecrow is reportedly in the works to appear on the series.
During Gotham's panel at Stan Lee's Comikaze (via Zap2it), producer Danny Cannon dropped the news that he and the writing staff are crafting an episode that focuses on Scarecrow. "On 'Gotham,' the villain will be seen as a child, before he takes on the Scarecrow moniker. In fact, it's something that will be passed on to him from his father," says Cannon, "which will create an eventual enemy for Batman while still having a possible adversary for Jim Gordon.
A classic entry in Batman's rogues gallery, the Scarecrow is well-known to fans for appearing on Batman: The Animated Series (prompting the "I am the night!!" quote), the Arkham game series, and his portrayal by Cillian Murphy in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.
For comic book fans, Scarecrow played a surprisingly key role in the Blackest Night event, where he came under the possession of one of the Sinestro Corps rings. The ring allowed the character to harness his powers with cosmic fear energy -- and it was awesome.
