Couple of the other books I got this week:
Rush #3 : It's still not clear if this is a supernatural book or not, but great characters abound, and who doesn't love a historical setting like the 1850s gold rush? Si Spurrier is definitely high on my list of writers right now.
Green Lantern #10 : More marking time here, but seems like next issue stuff will happen... even actually tying back to the rest of the DCU. It's going to have to be a good ending for me to feel like the story's been worth it.
Strange Academy #15 : Loving Gaslamp as a bad guy... a pusher is a fantastic villain for a school book, after all. While it's a little bit tricky with so many characters for everyone to get time, it's working out pretty well with the rotating focus. Can't wait to see what direction that go in with Calvin. If I have one complain/worry, it's this book will be alot like Gotham Academy over in DC, and none of the characters will ever be heard from again when it's over.
Batman vs. Bigby #5 : Ok, you guys were right, it's terrible. I really tried. I'll get the last one to see if there's a point to all this, but this has me worried about the upcoming new Fables series... it's not like Batman should be foreign to Willingham, and he's writing him like he's never seen the character before.

You made it further on Batman V Bigby than I did, I couldn't stomach the first issue and yeah it definitely tempered my feelings on more Fables. I didn't care for the way the war with Gepeto ended and found everything after that nearly unreadable so my hopes weren't terribly high to begin with but after Bigby's meeting with Batman it's a near non-starter for me.

There was definitely some good stuff after the main arc.. the Good Prince was good, and the stories with the Wolf Children are fantastic. There was definitely some clunkers too, though. I've found that most times creators go back to a property after a long time away, more often than not it's just not the same. I'm hoping Fables is the exception, but my hopes are definitely lower now.
