We have a thread about evil twins/duplicates, but what about the evil counterparts of heroes, characters who are similar to the hero, but evil? Of course, we have the obvious ones (Venom, Sinestro, Reverse Flash) but what are some other ones of note?

There are a few obvious ones like Superman/Bizarro, Wolverine/Sabretooth, Hulk/Maestro, and Warlock/Magnus, but I think my favorite might be Judge Dredd/Judge Death.

Really, Captain America's evil counterpart is The Red Skull. He may not have been a super-soldier; but, he was his thematic opposite, in every way.

Captain Marvel/Black Adam Batman/Wraith (from the awesome Batman Special with art by Michael Golden) That's the one I thought of too! And since Wrath is a villainous Batman, his reverse number, he answers Batman's dark blue and black costume with a bright orange and pink one. (Not sure that was a good choice for a villain...) I had problems with the inking of that issue, but you're right: the Golden art was just gorgeous. |
