Okay, may be time for a clue. Even the great detectives need a clue to work with, right? So here's a better look at the guy behind the cat

Still nothing, huh? Maybe this'll help. The book's title character has been the subject of a fair bit of discussion around here, though the guy in green was never mentioned.

Man o man. From the clues I would guess a Batcover, particularly Detective Comics, but I have turned up bupkis in my searches so far...so I am probably way off base.

Okay, time to come clean. One of the reasons I went w/this pic was because I figured the costumed figure would lead folks to think it was a superhero comic. Just trying to be devious.

Nope, it's an American comic, and the title character is an American citizen, though he was not born in the States. Not sure where the guy in the cat suit is from.

Hmph. The clues made me think of Bob Hope or Blackhawks, but no dice it seems.

The title character has appeared in comics from multiple publishers; this cover is from the Dell run.

Nice job, Prince Hal! I was getting worried there. It was a tough one. Well done, jodoc! The Dell clue was the one that helped most.

Never would have guessed that one. Didn't even guess that it was Frank Springer. I'll start a new one:
