When I saw this one, I was sure it was JLA 22. And I was wrong. Dammit.

Hint time: I may be fooling you all in a way similar to Jodoc's.

Hint time: I may be fooling you all in a way similar to Jodoc's. My first thought was JLA 22, but then I figured we were being set up. I thought it might be a DC Western, but I came up short when I looked. (Looks like Sy Barry's work there.)

I'd look for a cover featuring a masque of some kind. I took a peek at several mystery book covers, but so far... nada.

Girls' Love Stories #40. Bernard Sachs inks, not Sy Barry. My b. said cover... (oops the4thpip got it) after the first hint of the deception my guess was a romance comic, but I had no idea where to even start looking through them there are just so damn many of them... great job Prince Hal! -M

This one's more straight-forward

It's probably silly to say the knuckles look like Paul Pelletier's work.

It's probably silly to say the knuckles look like Paul Pelletier's work. Not silly at all. It shows that familiarity w/comic art that has helped put you in first place in this thing. Though I am gaining on you, y'know. But no, it's not Pelletier. Does this count as the first clue?

Time for clue B
It's a superhero title. Not an A-lister, but he had a respectable original run, and has been brought back a couple of times by other publishers. So I'd call him a solid B-lister.

Oy, my first impression was that it looked like that weird Klingon blade weapon from Next Generation and I skimmed through a bajillion Star Trek covers looking for it....I thinkI stink at this game.... -M

That 'man who dress as green cat' line I thought was a dead give-away for the Charlie Chan pic, but the clue that did it for that one was the publisher. (Which doesn't always work, apparently.) If I'd made the first clue for this one clearer, you wouldn't have spent so much time looking at Star Trek covers. (Fun tho that may be.) I thought the repetition would help, too.
