BTW, there's a couple of empty chessboards there, and sure enough, they aren't 64 squares ones. Your point is well-taken . Though in this case, the 48-star flag does seem to be a deliberate choice. And Tarantula does seem to be sporting a Mauser, the weapon of choice for a great many characters, including Manhunter, The Rocketeer, Jon Sable, Baron Zemo, etc., making this a particularly difficult challenge. I don't really remember when that story does supposedly take place, but being altered by the narrator, maybe the flag is allegorical, or just a mistake. I'm inclined to think the worst.

I'm thinking Nightwing (vol. 1) #40. Correct! Sorry I took so long... I got caught in the discussion I wanted to go with a Nightwing cover I owned, but this once seemed better for the game Next up, probably an easy one...

What If..? #39, the Conan vs Thor story.
Excellent tale by Zelenetz, and surprisingly good art by Ron Wilson. Even Bulanadi didn't annoy me.

MRP used that as an Icon? funny! Ozy got it first (sorry Roquefort!). I figured it would be quick. Next up, a damsel in Distress.....

Reports of that images use as my icon have been exaggerated. I have used a few Conan images as avatars, but not that particular one.

mrp didn't use it as an icon. It was a joke based on his former icons. I should have used a smiley. or .

Hmmm this is tough...there are a lot of bondage covers. I will try to narrow down, it looks like Gil Kane art but I could be way off. Feeling 1968-1973

Hmmm this is tough...there are a lot of bondage covers. I will try to narrow down, it looks like Gil Kane art but I could be way off. Feeling 1968-1973 Yeah, I thought I had seen that image recently on a cover in my stash, but going through it seems like almost every Marvel Bronze age "Fear" mag had something similar. I was thinking Kane too, buy I wasn't confident in that. Spent some time scanning covers looking for it, but the women in bondage meme seemed ubiquitous in Marvel covers from around '70-'76 but was far less common after that. It could be aDC or indy book, but the coloring and layout of the piece stuck me as a Marvel touch, but again I could be way off. -M

I have a feeling it's from one of the supernatural covers. Ghost Rider or Man-Thing or Werewolf by Night or Marvel Chillers or something like that. Looks to me kind of like Don Perlin art.

I went through the cover galleries on GCD of all those series this afternoon, nope, not any of those....that was my first thought too. Not Adventures into Fear, Man-Thing, Ghost Rider, Son of Satan, Marvel Spotlight, Tomb of Dracula, Werewolf by Night, Marvel Chillers, Worlds Unknown, Supernatural Thrillers, Tarzan, Skull the Slayer, Amazing Adventures, Jungle Action, Astonishing Tales,Worlds Unknown or Marvel Presents... -M
