AQUAMEN #6.Written by Chuck Brown, Brandon Thomas. Art by Max Raynor.
A real let down. After it was known that this was only 6 issues rather than an ongoing I feel like this last issue was rewritten. It reads like a series of montages of each member of the Aquaman family instead of a coherent story. And it all hangs on the premise that the Justice League was killed. Which DC even admits they weren't. After last year's Aquaman/Green Arrow mini series that was just OK I really want a decent Aquaman story. Especially since his previous ongoing written by Kelly Sue DeConnick was pretty good!

STRANGE #4. Written by Jed MacKay. Art by Marcelo Ferreira.
Clea's mother Umar has come to visit...and Clea is less than thrilled. Meanwhile the Blasphemy Cartel attacks the Sanctum Sanctorum. Clea and her Mom team up to fight them off. This issue also has the dark Moon Knight...Shadow Knight.
Continuing MacKay's awesome run on Dr Strange that started in the mini series The Death of Dr Strange.
Great concepts and great exploration of Clea's character. I love her as the Sorcerer Supreme and a Warlord. I also love that she knows there is a way to bring Stephen Strange back and keeps pushing forward to find it all the while protecting NYC and Earth from evil magic.

ROBIN #16. Written by Joshua Williamson. Art by Roger Cruz.
Damian and Hawke go to Tokyo to help Flatline. Meanwhile Lord Death Man is held prisoner on Lazarus Island...which is what he wants?
The penultimate issue of Williamson's run on Damian & Hawke. I am going to miss this series as I felt Williamson had a good handle on Damian and I loved that Conner Hawke was a part of this title.
Lazarus Island will not be going away as this series leads into Mark Waid's 5 issue Batman vs Robin title with plot lines from this series and his World's Finest series explored further in that title.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: SYMBOL OF TRUTH #3. Written by Tochi Onyebuchi. Art by R.B. Silva.
I still can't believe we have 2 Cap titles that are pretty awesome!
Sam Wilson is tracking down a vibranium smuggling ring which leads him to Latveria and a confrontation with Dr Doom. Later he tries to get into Wakanda...
Meanwhile Joaquín Torres (The Falcon) looks into leads in his own hometown.
I like how different the two Cap books are as they explore the two unique personalities that are Sam & Steve. I also love that both the new Falcon and Bucky are big parts of the titles.
Really happy with the Capt America books right now.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #6/900!
Celebrating 900 issues of ASM and Spidey's 60th anniversary!
First is a 70 page story written by Zeb Wells with art by Ed McGuinness.
Going all the way back into Stan and Steve's classic run.... someone from Spider-Man's past has captured the Sinister Six and used them to create the Sinister Adaptoid. Spidey & the Sinister Six team up to defeat this new/old threat. Plus a few back up stories that celebrate Spider-Man.
A pretty decent 60th anniversary issue.
Both DC & Marvel have been providing pretty good anniversary issues celebrating 80/60 years of their characters. I plan on keeping these types of issues to pass on to my grandchildren to read to show them why I loved comic books so much.

DETECTIVE COMICS #1062. Written by Ram V. Art by Rafael Albuquerque.
A new creative team and a new direction for Batman. And this direction is really different! This story is sort of a gothic opera. Something is terribly wrong with Batman. Bruce can’t figure out this feeling of creeping dread that is consuming him. Also real demons roam the city as an ancient melody is heard at night.
This 4 parter concludes in October right in time for Halloween. It has elements of horror and shows how versatile of a character Batman is in that his character works in different genres.

I really hope they keep Damian around and with this current, more mature version that has his own supporting cast. Having him grow up a bit has be so much more effective that Jon Kent, IMO. I'm hoping for a new series with a new #1 after Batman vs. Robin.. or maybe even a team book? I don't care what the call it (Outsiders, maybe? Shouldn't be the Titans) with Damian, Connor, Flatline and a couple of the others (which is essential what Robin has been) would certainly get my money.

Action Comics #1045 is STILL really dragging, now we have a side trip on Earth with Lois rallying 'The House of El' to get the Genesis stone back... UGH. Just get to it already!! They've been ramping up to the final battle for months... timing it for Dark Crisis doesn't seem like it's the thing, Dark Crisis will be over before this arc is it seems!
