So the 8 episodes of Paper Girls adapting the Image series form Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang dropped today. If you haven't seen the trailer...
if you're not familiar with the series, it starts as a period piece sent on Nov. 1 1988 and begins with the exploits of 4 girls delivering papers that morning following Halloween in a Cleveland suburb when sci-fi weirdness happens...
I've not read the whole series yet it ran 30 issues (3 deluxe HC, 6 five-issue trades), and I've read the first third and really like it, just haven't gotten to the rest yet. But Mrs. MRP saw the trailer and wanted to see this even though she hasn't read the comics. So we watched the first episode tonight, and are going to do 1 ep at a time (probably a day but maybe skip a day as needed based on her work schedule).
I really liked the first ep. The casting is excellent and the 4 young woman cast as the leads capture the spirit (and look) of the characters and the story is mostly faithful to the comic (a minor change here and there to make it work better on screen, but nothing that changes the tone or feel of the comic).
It's shaping up to be a fun, weird sci-fi adventure. Worth checking out whether or not you are familiar with the comic.

Just finished the first season. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Parts of me want to read the whole comic series. Another part doesn't want to spoil the TV show.
