Enjoyable short film, and shooting it in B&W was a nice touch -especially with the bloodstone shining red. Both Jack and Elsa are sympathetic enough for us to want more of their adventures.
I loved the look of Man-Thing but was annoyed at how he was used. He's not a shambling and mindless pile of moss: he has friends with whom he shares Chewbacca-like conversations, he's smart, he runs quite fast, and he's even got enough dexterity to make coffee! He's basically Groot, but covered in moss.
It'll be hard to tell a "proper" Man-Thing story in that context. I wouldn't want eventual Man-Thing stories to be about a poor guy trapped in a monstrous body... that's what early Swamp Thing tales were about, but not what Man-Thing.

It was definitely a more Groot like approach, but I think they kept enough of his lethality and mystery about him that I think he could still be used in a darker way if they wanted to in the future...but honestly I really loved him and Jack as buddies so I wouldn't say more to that either. That scene with the French press at the end was beautifully done. |

This was well done and I really enjoyed this the most from any other recent Marvel TV shows. I wouldn't mind seeing another one next October.
