I was on eBay and I put some low to moderate bids on copies of Detective Comics #375, #387, #388, #389 and #394.
I probably won't get any of them because I don't plan on raising the bids any higher (except maybe for #394) but it's certainly worth the effort to try to get a deal. And I got Detective #352 and #392 on low bids over the last few weeks.

I find entering your top bid and hoping for the best ,is the best method. Otherwise you risk buyers remorse for overpaying.

I haven't bought anything on Ebay in eons. But when I did, I put in the price I was willing to pay and then forgot about the auction. If I won it fine. If not, something else would come along later. I refused to big against myself and inflate the price beyond what I wanted to pay.

Yeah, and if you're watching the auction at the end, you end up increasing your bid to win.

Sometimes I'll watch and see the price of something leap in the final 10 seconds, but I know what I want to pay, and that's what I bid. And if I'm buying it on ebay, it's nothing i really need.

If you're anything like me, you know exactly where you were and what you were doing the day Ron Palillo died. Perhaps best known for his portrayal of Arnold Horshack on the beloved sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter, Palillo delighted audiences around the globe with his braying laughter, nasal delivery, and endearing comic hi-jinks. That night, after a few cocktails, I bought a full set of Mattel's 1976 Welcome Back, Kotter figures mint on the card, fully expecting to turn a tidy profit by selling them to the biggest Kotter fan on the 'net. Turns out that fan was me. Five years later, it's still the highest price ever paid for the set.

Sorry man, I'm nothing like you. Ron Palillo ?? That's okay. Never mind. Say, did I ever tell you about my Uncle Herman and the pufferfish?

I heard that "Kotter" is a champion poker player. They definitely show him at the world series of poker every year, no idea how good he is though

Around $1.3 million in live tournament winnings. Finished 9th in the 2007 WSOP H.O.R.S.E. tournament (widely considered the tournament requiring the broadest and most poker skill). He's not elite. But he's been very good for a long time.

I think I have a single issue of a DC Comics Welcome Back Kotter title which I bought as part of a job lot of stuff, but I don't think it made much of an impression on me, and I certainly didn't realize it was based on a TV show. Never heard of Ron Palilo either.

In the mail yesterday and today i got these back issues
Amazing Spider Man 352 Incredible Hulk issue 400.
The incredible hulk story arc ghosts of the past is what really got me into the hulk comic back then when I was younger. Though I missed out on a bunch of stuff during that time too
