FINALLY!! I got it! I have been on the lookout for a stellar copy of "Limited Collectors' Edition #C-51" for several years now at a reasonable price and it finally happened! So earlier today I won this eBay auction of a copy listed in NM 9.2 for a steal at $40 + $4.70 shipping fee. In this condition the book normally sells for well over $150. So I feel like a thief for getting it so cheap! BEHOLD BEAUTY... Debate...isn't this cover better than sex!??

I ordered this off eBay. It says it's 8.0 aside from the 10p stamp. So I bid a little higher than usual and didn't expect to get it because it does look very nice from the photo. I got it for $19.50 and can hardly believe it. It's another chapter in the saga of the Outsider! And ... I only need one more issue (#347) and Ill have every issue of Detecive Comics from #301 to the present!

(...) Debate...isn't this cover better than sex!?? Oh, it's definitely a beautiful cover, and quite iconic to boot, but to answer the question, I'd have to say no.

I double dipped! I found 2 VF+ copies of Batman #176 & #198 on eBay and just had to have them! #198 is in better condition than the previous copy I bought...#176 is at least equal. These are my 2 favorite Batman related 80 page giants, why??...because they reprint my 2 favorite Dick Sprang Batman stories..."The Jungle Cat-Queen!" & "The Joker's Utility Belt!". I first encountered "The Jungle Cat-Queen" in the "Greatest Batman Stories Ever Told" TP and first encountered "The Joker's Utility Belt" in a coverless copy of Batman #176 many years ago! So now I have nice reprint copies in glorious newsprint to cherish until I die! Ha, I could never afford the originals. Oh yeah, the fact that they were both listed from the same seller as "One Owner Collection" made it more desirable for me. It's nice to know that someone bought these issues when they were new and kept them in nice condition for so many years.

It's nice to know that someone bought these issues when they were new and kept them in nice condition for so many years. These are both great! I bought #198 with no back cover for like a dollar in the 1990s. I love it for the 1948 origin of Batman where he catches up with Joe Chill. Still my favorite Batman story! I also love that story where the Gong is the villain. If I was ever writing Batman, I would bring back the Gong! I bought #176 six or seven years ago. "The Joker's Utility Belt" is one of my Top Five Joker stories ... but #176 is wall-to-wall awesome! The Penguin story is one of my favorite Penguin stories and you also get The Terrible Trio, Mr. Zero and the Calendar Man! And a Catwoman story from the newspaper strip! I've had #198 for so long and read it so many times that I haven't read it for a while. But I still pull out #176 from time to time!

Yes, the Origin of Batman story, the Penguin story and that wonderful Catwoman newspaper strip story are equally great! I agree. I have my eye on 2 other eBay 80 page Giant issues but just can't decide if I want to spend the money. Why don't I have more money to blow?
