Waiting on a set of Inhumans 1975 #1-12, but Astonishing Tales #26-36 are here so it's a Deathlok weekend... um, whee? Also another stretch of Marvel's Greatest Comics is on hand. New (to me) old comics, what could be nicer! Also working on the 2004-05 Doom Patrol run, halfway through reading them.

New (to me) old comics, what could be nicer! Also working on the 2004-05 Doom Patrol run, halfway through reading them. I got most of those Inhumans issues when they were brand-new. The main thing I remember after all these years is AWESOME GIL KANE ART! And I also got a bunch of Marvel's Greatest Comics back then. Including that great Crystal spotlight issues where they're fighting the Wizard and the epic where they all go to Latveria and fight Doctor Doom …. also the gangster planet where the Thing is a gladiator and it turns out the gangsters are … I won't spoil it! What little Deathlok I've read has been pretty cool. I first saw Deathlok in Marvel Team-Up (#45 or #46, I think) and then I ended up with three or four beat-up issues of Astonishing Tales in the late 1970s. I love the Doom Patrol but I don't think I've read the 2004 series, maybe an issue or two. If it's the John Byrne one, I didn't like it at all!

I love it when a plan works! These are the books I am essentially getting for free after selling a bunch of stuff that came in the same lot. Granted, I am sad that I sold a copy of ASM #50 (it was real rough) but I did get a bonus gift from this seller. He included a beat up copy of ASM #3 with a reprinted cover attached!!!! The interior was a little too destroyed for my liking (someone had literally gone over every image in pen for half the story) but I was able to find someone who wanted it. Super happy with the above books essentially being free having made money back and some. The Masterworks are awesome to have, even though I plan to track down as many original issues possible. The first appearances of Rhino rock!!!! Love them! As does the Death of Green Goblin...I once had a really rough copy that I sold a few years ago now. This one is in 4.5-5.0 shape, so I am happy. This narrows down my list of ASM issues between #50-400. Currently hunting for #50, 56, 59, 61, 70, 72, 75, 76, 80, 85, 86, 108, 111, 112, 113, 115, 129, 151, 159, 204, 270, 280, 308, 378, 394, 397, 399. Hoping to knock off at least a quarter of these if not half by year's end! The Amazing Spider-Man #1 to #40 is my favorite run of all comics EVER! And it's still a great comic for a looong loooong time after that.

I got most of those Inhumans issues when they were brand-new. The main thing I remember after all these years is AWESOME GIL KANE ART! Kane is one of my favorite artists. I actually had #6 all on it's own long ago but remember little about it. I didn't expect to be buying these but saw a nice run at a nicer price and thought it too good to pass up. The Marvel's Greatest Comics run I'll have is #51 to #84. I started with #83, 84 because it tied in with X-Men: The Hidden Years which got me interested in reading super character comics again fairly recently. I only had sporadic '60s-'70s FF comics in the past, so I'm hoping it will read better as a long run. I had FF #77 as a little kid (well, my older brother's comic passed down) and could make almost no sense of it.

Don't know if you'll want to try this Icctrombone, but if that's grease pencil on the Thor cover you can take a piece of clear or magic tape and stick it to your palm a couple of times until it's not too sticky, then touch it to the cover where the grease pencil is and gently lift some of it off, repeat until it's as light as it will go, carefully of course. Sometimes it's amazing how well this will work. I like anything with heralds of Galactus too by the way.

Nothing too expensive (like my early Captain America issues, but some of the Bronze Age stuff, for sure. Icctrombone - nice job on that Thor run, buddy! I know you've been working on it a long time.

Thanks, man. I'm getting a little impatient and am getting them from eBay instead of hunting for 1 dollar bargains at shows. I am closing in on the Jurgens run that started at 1998.

Shoot me a PM of what you need from the Jurgens run. I have a couple of places I can look for $1 books, so I might be able to help you out.

Okay, I couldn't help but look, and find... I have assembled Thor #223-234 and am pretty excited about it! I think I really lucked out that a couple Canadian sellers happened between them to have all but one of the issues as part of half price sales. But I'll have to pull back for awhile on spending now.

I had SUPERMAN # 404; a sort of 'throwback' to the Silver/Early Bronze Age-style 'imaginary stories', this one leaving a 13-year gap between the end of Superboy's career and Clark's present-day adulthood, which he spends doing...something.

The Superman Special by Walt Simonson is a pretty fun book - and the art is great, of course.

I hardly ever read Man of Steel back in the day, but I LOVE this one. It's hilarious!
