Ooh, just got my set of 1970s Inhumans #1-12 all in new bags and boards from Gary Dolgoff! I even got refunded on excess postage I'd paid that wasn't used! I'll definitely think of them when looking for anything in the future. Also, got a copy of the first Marvel I remember buying off the stands that sort of presaged my becoming a regular Marvel reader... Hanna-Barbera Spotlight #3 (Jan. 1979) starring The Jetsons with Yakky Doodle guest duck. I haven't seen this particular comic in ages; says the writer is Mark Evanier and inking is by Carol Lay!

Ooh, just got my set of 1970s Inhumans #1-12 all in new bags and boards (...) I ordered the whole 12-issue set (from the store that would become better known as mycomicshop.com) back in 1981 for, I think, $3. Needless to say, I don't have them any more, but I remember liking the series. The stories were pretty solid, and you've got lots of nice early art by these two new guys named Perez and Pollard, and also by veteran Gil Kane. I kind of wish I still had those books, since the only reprint so far is the out-of-print, way-too-expensive Masterworks edition.

These two bring me a step further to completing the Alan Moore Supreme run I especially like #2 because it's drawn by Jim Starlin

I have a late 70's Marvel "funny' comic, Laff-a-Lympics, that was also written by Laff-a-lympics. Maybe another one, as well, like Dynomutt or something.

I am so jealous! I see Detective Comics was still pursuing its "sinister Orientals" theme. I like to call the first issue Anti-Asian Comics because almost all the stories are about the Yellow Peril. Star-Spangled Comics is SO GREAT! The Kid and Stripesy are so much fun, especially when they tangle with … the Needle! (Who is quite possibly the worst "main villain" ever. There's a certain charm in that, I guess.)

I ordered this a couple of days ago. With this issue in the collection, I'll be one issue away from having 700 in a row! The one I'm missing is #298, and it's a bit pricey because of the first appearance of the second Clayface, Matt Hagen. I've seen beat-up (but not TOO beat-up) copies of #298 for $100 to $150, so I'll probably save up and buy it for myself at Christmas. And then I'll probably take a break for a while.

Evanier worked for Hanna-Barbera Productions in the late '70s and early '80s, writing stories for various publishers(Charlton, Marvel, and international) that had the license to do H-B material.

Back from Vegas Con with some nice ones including these two: Detective Comics #18 (pre-Batman) That's a really nice pre-Batman Detective... pre-Scarlet Avenger too? I've never bought one of these 'professionally graded' ecapsulated comics before. Am I right in thinking you can't take them out? When I did have '40s comics I felt a little nervous looking at them but I was always very careful. The oldest one I ever had was a Whiz Comics #16 from 1941, and the funniest thing about it was there was a letter in it from a guy in my hometown who my Dad used to work with when he was young! What are the odds? The next oldest comic I ever had would've been a 1943 Wow. I did have quite a few '30s pulp magazines though.

Maybe a couple of dozen over the years. I certainly won't pay a premium for them. I crack about half of them as soon as I get them. However, I've recently been focusing heavily on 1930s DC books (about 50 of them now) which have often been slabbed by others, so I've picked up several of them recently. The Crimson Avenger (not Scarlet) first appeared in Detective Comics #20, so this does pre-date him too.

I have this (and a couple of Captain America issues I need) en route from Lone Star Comics. One of my friends at work gets married soon,is a huge Superman nut (we're all wearing superhero shirts under our suits in the wedding party), so I'm going to draw him and his wife on the cover, frame it,and have a buncha people from work sign it. Praying I can get some sort of likeness going on, and I dont botch it and embaress myself.

I have on order the issues that I'm missing from the Jurgens Thor run that spanned 85 issues. Yesterday I made an offer for issue # 81 , which had sky high prices because of some silly made up connection to the Thor Ragnarok movie. It was going for 9-40 dollars ! I got it for 4.50 , which is more than I wanted to pay. But it completes the run...
