Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedSome Defenders issues I grabbed up from this collection I am helping to sell. Mainly snagged these because the feature characters I like (Guardians, Rhino, Elf With a Gun). The DC presents issues are from a recent ebay buy. I got these two plus three others including a DC Presents #26. I am not a huge Superman or Teen Titans fan so I was happy to resell that issue and put some of the proceeds towards a big purchase that I will show in the coming week or so. The other two DC Presents issues here though were high grade and I love the Spectre so I held onto them. I am holding off on reading the Defenders ish that supposedly concludes the Omega! The Unknown series that was never properly finished. I am going to try and read this series before I read this issue as I have heard it is an interesting read.

As to reading order on the Omega the Unknown series and the Defenders issues, my suggestion would be to read the Omega series, then burn the Defenders issues. It's really, really that bad. I think the series is better off left unfinished than sticking it with the crappy ending they inflicted on us in Defenders.

Those Defenders issues are awful. Even Steven Grant agrees, and he wrote them.

I stopped by a comic store during a study break today. Their "back issue" selection wasn't that great(most of the back issues were from 2000 and later), but I did find some stuff was good:
Animal Man: 28, 30, 31, 36, 42, 43, 44, 45
The Flash(1987): 51, 191
Legion of Super-heroes(1989): 45, 49, 52
These will be the first Animal Man stories I've read. Do I need to know anything from the prior Morrison run before getting into Milligan and Veitch's stuff?

I stopped at a Jim Hanleys universe comic book store after having a fight with my wife. They had a section of dollar comics and 15 for 10 bucks. I picked up a run of The Boys and a Earths Mightiest ( Avengers mini ) issue that I was missing.

Attachment DeletedSmall snap shot of some stuff I added to the ole collection. I picked up Birds of Prey #1-19 and a bunch of mini series and other issues from a guy in town. Cost me $20 plus I traded him some Ka-Zar issues from the 1980's. I was intrigued by the series and found the first few issues okay. I like this Joker story a lot, plus I got a high grade copy of #8 which I will sell or trade (message me if interested in trading!) Spider-Woman is also a new venture for me. The guy whose collection I am selling had the first 15 issues or so and I figured it was best to sell those for him but these two were randomly in there so I held onto them. Ditto for the Werewolf #2, its rough but I have always wanted to start into that series and I had to have it.

The series doesn't really pick up again until Jamie Delano takes over with #51. And then it gets really, really good.

Well my copy of The Golden Age Dr. Fate Archives just arrived from Lonestar today, had a bunch of credit form a pile of purged books I traded to them and picked it up... Looking forward to diving in and reading some classic Fate here soon. It's a bit of a heftier volume than some of the other DC Archives I have owned in the past. -M

Haven't purchased any classic comics lately, but while I was away visiting my parents I found some of my old comics and brought them back here - mostly what was left of all the Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne X-Men I used to have and a nearly complete run of the first 45 issues or so of the Wolfman/Perez Teen Titans, which I didn't remember having followed for so long; also a few scattered issues of Marvel's Captain Marvel, Ka-Zar, and other odds and ends.

Went into Savers today and happened to walk in on them putting on the week's new book donations. Picked u a trade for the 1st 10 issues of Warlord (I had no idea such existed) and 5 volumes of Lone Wolf and Cub (8.9,11,12,14) for $14.95... I'm pretty excited.
