Picked up full run of Foolkiller for $1 per ish! Very stoked about this, as I only recently heard of it and added it to my recommended read list.
Also snagged Batman #358 for a very reasonable $5 in nice shape.

Showcase Presents Martian Manhunter vol 2 - I read some reviews that said the series gets real bad by this point, but those same people hate Zook so I assume them fools. That's a fair assumption. If you hate Zook, you might as well hate Bat-Mite, and why would you even read comics if you hate Bat-Mite?

I got this beauty in the mail today. For the longest time I thought I had it ,but what I did have was Giant-size Avengers #5 which was a reprint. Such a great comic! I used to have it. I also used to have GSA #5.
But I read this fairly recently in The Essential Avengers and it's as awesome as ever.

I got this beauty in the mail today. Very nice. Pym in my favorite of his many costumes and a formidable team of villains. I don't recall the Mandarin "playing well with others." Is this his first outing with a villain team? I'm pretty sure it's his first adventure with an official team but don't forget his "alliance" with the Swordsman in Avengers #20.

I was able to hit Pulp Fiction Comics in Long Beach today after work... no back issues (and few new comics, even), but easily the best and most complete trade collection I've seen.. they had quite nearly every Masterwork and Archive, and entire shelves devoted to stuff like TMNT and Usagi. Not a whole lot of manga, but an amazing selection of American comic trades. I picked up the 'Justice Society Returns' and Welcome to Tranquility out of the $5 bin (which had some good stuff I already own, including Lucifer and Stormwatch). They apparently do 40% off cover for all Marvel and DC stuff all the time (Which is nice!) so I also picked up Vol. 3 of Lorna the Jungle Girl Masterwork... more than I like to pay for those, but it was a cool store, so I thought I'd give them some money

Managed to snag a copy of Marvel Team-Up #95 (first appearance of Bobbi Morse as Mockingbird) for $5 earlier this week. It's at least F+, and this book is regularly selling for $15 or more on eBay since she showed up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this week, with some copies going for close to $30.

so I also picked up Vol. 3 of Lorna the Jungle Girl Masterwork... OMG! You are so lucky! Any Bill Everett or Russ Heath? I left it back in the hotel room (plan on reading more tonight).. the intro describes it as a real mish mash of artists, where in alot of cases they think stuff was touched of by some of the better artists afterwards and such. I'll let you know

I was wondering what was happening with that! I was during a search for Marvel Team-Up the other day - as I am wont to do, I love team-up books - and I noticed that that particular issue - generally .50 cent bin fodder - was going for a lot.

Stoker's Dracula HC (reprint of Dick Giordano/Marv Wolfman adaptation from 70s) I love that Scorpio Rose series, but tracking down the rest of the story after it was cancelled has been a bear, as it is scattered over several random series including a back up in Coyote and a cross over with Warrior Nun Areala. You can also read the one-shot Madame Xanadu series from DC in the 80s as a prologue of sorts to that series, as the Scorpio series was based of Englehart's unused scripts for the series when he and DC parted ways over creative differences. -M

so I also picked up Vol. 3 of Lorna the Jungle Girl Masterwork... OMG! You are so lucky! Any Bill Everett or Russ Heath? So the Lorna parts are a guy I'd never heard of before...Jay Scott Pike. He's decent, but inconsistent. The liner notes claim that they think many of the covers were touched up by more prominent artists. Jungle Action and Jungle Tales have some big names, though... John Romita Sr, Don Heck, Syd Shores, and Joe Maneely all have a story or two. It's pretty funny how the bad guys are communists in about every story... definitely not as good as the pre-code ones, but still well worth it.
