Morrison can be hit or miss for me as well. I liked that the X-men were different in his version. That run had mind blowing stuff. It wasn't all good, though - Magneto a drug addict?

Anyone should read Roy Thomas' X-Men run purely for Havok's presence in the books.  I never like Havok either. That thing on his head is kinda silly looking. Doh! Havok's is my favorite Marvel character!  |

I kind of want that X-Men Visionaries book, but if it's the same thing that's already collected in the Masterworks, then nevermind. But, still! Any Neal Adams is great too look at. it collects all of the Neal Adams Roy Thomas run from the X-men collaboration. I had only ever read 2 issues from that run. I'm hoping that it's worth the wait. And I take it back, kind of: I just read some from the Masterworks tonight, and Roy does a pretty good job on the stories, and of course the art is amazing. I really enjoyed what I read tonight. |

I agree... Whedon's OK, but it actually felt like a good fanfic more than the real X-Men. Morrison was just terrible, IMO... sometimes he can be good (even brilliant), but with X-Men, he wandered into WTF territory. Even if he was great on the X-Men (and he wasn't), that art was so freaking HORRIBLE, I never would have stuck with it. |

And now I will have the second TPB shipping to me. Excellent choice, prepare for a fun read. IMO, the second TPB is even more entertaining than the first! Also, most of the characters are great...but Mosquito is irresistible. I just love her personality, powers and design. Mosquito rocks!  |

I've always thought John Bolton was an amazing artist. He was really good with texture, cloth looks like cloth, metal looks like metal.

Got a small e-bay pile over the weekend... one of those where I was bidding on a couple silver age Iron Man comics I need, and grabbed a few others to combine shipping, then didn't get the one I actually wanted. Still, though, a nice fun mix of late silver age/early bronze goodness for $24:
