A few books that showed up today:
Nick Cardy did some of the best ever Aquaman covers... that issue #9 looks great.

So one of my collecting focus is D&D related comics (big surprise). I recently got a handful of issues and a trade (plus a D&D supplement) in a trade in an RPG Barter group I am part of in exchange for a 3rd party supplement from the 80s. Th first three were published by Kenzer in the early 2000s one of the first publishers to do D&D comics after DC let the license go. They never seemed to have a big print run, and they tend to be a little hard to find (though not very pricey, though that is changing in the post-pandemic comic market). The next three are from IDW as they started doing D&D comics in 2012 (now 10 years ago, they've kept the license longer than any publisher has previously), 3 issues of the Forgotten Realms series written by the setting's creator Ed Greenwood. and the last was a trade of one of the later IDW series, the last one that came out before I started picking up the singles... Again nothing key or special, just knocking some issues of my want list of D&D related comics. -M

Over the weekend I decided to start a new run. Justice League of America vol 1 and since George Perez is my favorite artist I figured I’d start with his run. 186, 192-196 and 200. And at a price 0f 6.00 total, non Perez related, I’ll add 211-213 and 254-256. I am excited because all are in great condition and I’ve never really read JLA, except for and issue here or there in the mid 80’s That was a really great period for the JLA, enjoy!

As much as I should like that comic and as much as I like the guys at Kenzer who produce it, the humor (and that of the Hackmaster game inspired by it) always seems to leave me cold. I know the tropes they are parodying intimately, I just was never able to get into it, so aside form a few giveaways I got as con swag, I don't have any issue of KotD. I always preferred the humor and send up of D&D in Order of the Stick by Rich Burlew than I did that in the KotD material. -M

Oh, how those Micronauts issues bring back happy memories. Those Golden and Kane images are awesome.

This arrived today. National Comics #61, cover-dated August 1947.
Part of my Crimebuster - inspired effort to collect all of the original appearances of Granny Gumshoe by Gill Fox in reasonable condition. There are 14 of these appearances in total, procuring this issue now gets me 1/3 of the way there. 9 more issues to go-- collecting this run in decent, complete condition is a bit of a challenge.

I love me some Darwyn Cooke. When DC did a month of Darwyn variants, I had planned to pick them all up, but some irl issues at the time prevented me from getting them as a new release. I was able to track all of them down except one afterwards, and this morning I finally got the last one I needed from a con friend/dealer who is part of the Gem City Comics FB group I am a part of... apparently this Batman issue featured a first appearance of some sort and was a "minor key" for a while for modern collectors and this book floated in the $15-$20 range which was far more than I wanted to pay just for the Darwyn cover. I got this one for $5. Still more than I like to pay for what will essentially be a piece of art framed on the wall as part of my Darwyn gallery with the rest of this series of covers, but since it was the last one I needed, I snagged it. -M

dbutler69 - Nice haul today!! I've been after a reasonably priced Jimmy Olsen #99 forever, love the Legion theme with that one. Always liked those early Faora appearances as well.

Sadly, my local comic shop's long-running 50% off section is now 30% but it can still be a pretty good deal so I snagged Absolute Green Lantern/Green Arrow which reprints the O'Neil & Adams run for $70.
