I've been quite strong on Ghost Rider recently, this 2001 MARVEL KNIGHTS GHOST RIDER #1 is not only signed by Devin Grayson & Trent Kaniuga but came with the very first DF certificate for this book. I've got lots of certified Dynamic Forces books but this is the first one with a 0001 certificate.

Have to sort and take pics yet, but just got back from picking u the load of FB auction books I was supposed to get last week but schedules got messed up. While I was there I went to Half Price Books to sell off some non-comic stiff we are purging, and flipped through their back issue bin while waiting, only to discover a large batch of mid to late 50s and early 60s 10 cent cover Dell era Disney Ducks for $1 and $2 each. The stack came home with me (pics later too). There were also a bunch of 70s GK/Whitman Ducks for a buck, but I only had a limited budget, so I stuck to the Dells.

Alrighty, here's the Gem City group pile... all books worked out to $1 to $3 a book (some were in lots), with more being $1 than $3. All were acquired via credit for some extra Moebius books I had that Jesse wanted. To start with, there was a bunch of Bronze Batman books (including #266 which is one of my childhood comics so I can knock that one off the list) and shaxper should be happy to see a Death in the Family trade among the stuff (it was $3) more to follow in another post... -M

In the last batch I got form Jesse, was a copy of Aardwolf #1 an indy anthology I hadn't heard of before, this time around, I got #2 There was also a pair of EC Crime Suspenstories Gemstone reprints... a couple of Marvel keys in Marvel Milestone editions... a couple of misc. Marvel & DC books... Gahan Wilson's Poe adaptations for First's Classics Illustrated line... a few DC romance books... Star Wars #61, love the cover and it was one of my childhood Marvels, so I can knock that one off that want list and last, some misc. Superman books, including another one of shaxper's favorites, the Byrne Big Barda issue. and that wraps it up. A new auction ends today, so there will be another stack in the future, but that's all for now. -M

WOW! @mrp, what a fantastic haul! Those Dell Duck books look in fantastic shape! I'm super jealous lol. You said you won these on Facebook auctions. This a private group thing or a public group?

The Dell Ducks were found at Half Price Books. The second group of books was a FB group run by Jesse Noble , who is the organizer of Gem City Comic Con (the name of the group as well), and it is public. If you PM me, we can work out details to get you to be a part of it if you are interested. -M

Captain Britain book is a pretty impressive collection. I never realized there was that many UK stories done. It is a pretty hefty book and nicely done.
Read the first two stories outlining the origin. Herb Trimpe's artwork really captures a bit of Kirby in the tales, might be from the thick line from the inking. Couple panels even reminded me of some of Eric Larsen's stuff (doing his own flavor of the King).

If you do a bit of digging, tingramretro started a Captain Britain review thread some years back, though it was left far from finished. It did cover the earliest UK appearances though and I recall it being a really entertaining read. It's definitely worth your time finding. Although I already have the Moore TPB and the Delano/Davis TPB, which pretty much covers what's in it except for the pre-Moore stuff. Still might, tho... it's some of my favorite superhero comics, ever.
