Hey, @jaska , I never know about that Brave and the Bold #34. A Legion appearance I haven't read. I'll have to check it out! It's good to have a Legion buddy who shares in that quest to read them all! Oh, absolutely. I'm very close, too, and this Brave & the Bold shouldn't cost much. I found that #35 has the Legion of Substitute-Heroes in part 2 of this story.

Magazine-sized, full-colour bronze-age L'uomo Ragno Gigante from Italy. This collected 3 issues at a time. I have the US originals so it's not a big deal if the text is Italian, this cover is fab in any language.
Yeah, I have a French Spidey comic, as well as French Hulk, Superman, and Tarzan.

I just splurged on an order, after having put it off for the longest time, because a few different things came up at the same time with decent prices:
a whole slew of early '70s Marvel Thor comics, so I'm now missing only about ten or eleven issues from between 200 and 279 or so.
the rest of Chaykin's American Flagg - I mean the ones he both wrote and drew; but somehow I missed #22, the one Alan Moore wrote, which I had meant to include.
and a few odds and ends, mostly other early to mid '70s Marvel stuff, e.g. a few FF issues I was missing from that period.

Yeah, sometimes on a book that's gotten to be pricey, you can almost enjoy it a bit more with a collected edition...no stress to accidently add some unintended "wear" just through simple handling. Again, that's an amazing gift, I'm happy you get to enjoy it.

Decided to treat myself, while Christmas shoppng, with some new old comic books yesterday from this really cool four story antique store downtown. That Archie with that hilariously bad fatphobic joke on the cover is from Dec 1967, 55 years old this month! It's also super high grade, atleast as far as I can tell. It's been read before, including by me yesterday lol, and there's a date stamped on the cover (the wrong date, it says October 1967, but this is the December issue?), but otherwise this thing is pretty prestine considering I got it from a junk shop. Ms. Tree is a series I always wanted to read, being a huge fan of Max Allan Collins, and these issues are very fitting as my first being holiday issues. Normally I wouldn't start in the middle of a series these days, and would track down the first issues or reprints (or scans if reprints aren't available). However I thought since this is a Christmas issue I'd go full holiday nostalgic and do what I did as a kid, just read what I could get my hands on. So even though these are issues 34 and 35 they will be the first Ms. Tree I read, then if I like them (which I'm sure I will) I'll track down a way to read it from the beginning. Predator vs Magnus 2 is an issue I've needed for like 20 years. I've collected anything Valiant since I was able to read as a kid in the late 90s, and I've had the first issue of this double header since then. I always assumed it would be a cheap book (and it was), but comic shops are very limited around me. Last, but not least, this Ironman graphic novel from the Epic Graphic Novel Line. I know absolutely nothing about it, but it was cheap and the claim of "The first computer generated graphic novel" has me iintrigued. I assume it was just drawn and colored digitally, but this would have been from the early or mid 80s, so that's pretty interesting. Also if anyone has a good way to make my images smaller without losing quality I'd love to hear, I feel like the images being this big makes it harder to read the post, and takes up so much room. I'm pretty new to forums (or new again since I was on them as a kid), and don't remember how to do anything lol.

Street date was 2-3 months before cover date so it's fine and gives the book some provenance, I love a neat date stamp and I'm really fussy about condition. It's in great shape for a silver-age Archie, I think I have 2 copies of this one.

Ohh interesting! As someone who doesn't get their comics graded or anything I didn't mind the stamp, it just confused me haha. Yeah it was only three dollars and looks really nice, nothing wrong inside the book either, so I'm happy with it. As a kid I had some Archies from the 90s, and have grabbed digests here and there, but a moth or so ago I just suddenly really fell in love with Archie, and wanted to collect some older issues, so this is pretty cool. I wont know till Christmas but I put some eBay listings for some golden age Katy Keene on my Christmas list from my wife haha. In an anniversary digest I read last month they showed some of the golden age pinups from Katy Keene, and the art and fashions sold me, and I just knew I needed to collect golden age Katy Keene whenever I can lol.
