I managed to double up on the DOUBLE DOUBLE's....this is World's Finest #1. I'll be getting it pressed to iron out those front cover ripples. Getting these in good or better shape is difficult so I'm really happy with this one. There are 24 of these D-D editions published 1967-70, I just want a few to have a representative sample of these rare British collections of remaindered books (4 comics so 132 pages thick).
Uh, if Confessor sees this, the seller's call came in at 9:35....

Found a lovely copy of Marvel Saga #22. Is it worth a lot? No.. I just love the living bejeezus out of this Romita cover.

I sometimes pick Patsy Walker or Patsy and Hedy in the Spend Your Allowance game. Good ol’ Patsy Walker! My first issue of Avengers was #144 where Patsy becomes Hellcat, and I’ve followed her on and off ever since.
But it strikes me that I’ve never actually read any of Patsy’s appearances in her own comic from the old days. So I went online and ordered a cheap, low-grade copy of Patsy and Hedy Career Girls #97.
Then I went online and read Patsy and Hedy #80. I hope the one I’m getting in the mail is as funny as #80.

I bought a lot of them back in the early 00s just to have but as I got into reading them, I really enjoyed them. Great artwork.

Found something kind of interesting at work today that I later bought Clearly it was very "well loved" by it's previous owner. Hopefully it'll be good reading from all the praise I've heard about it

Hopefully it'll be good reading from all the praise I've heard about it I hope you enjoy it, Concrete really floored me when it came out and was part of me starting to move more beyond my usual superhero fare. It's not a "dramatic" read so much that grips you in an action sense, but rather a very quirky premise with some very witty writing you kind of just have to experience. It may or may not grip you similarly of course, but congratulations on picking it up and having an opportunity to give it a go.

I came to Concrete late, but really enjoyed the various minis that came out after the series

One of my local comic shops runs an insane Black Friday sale every year, and I've never had the chance to go until now. Oh boy. Bought nearly 300 books tonight (almost the size of my entire collection as an adolescent) for $270. I'd approximate these books were worth about $700. Very few keys, but lots of stuff I really wanted. Highlights include: 1st Arms Falling Off Boy 1st Wonder Woman/Wonder Girl/Wonder Tot team-up Early Aqualad and Wonder Girl stories 1st Captain Marvel (Mar-Vel) in new costume 102 Disney Ducks books from the Gemstone Era (my personal favorite post-Barks) 52 Superman books taking my Post-Crisis run that previously ended in early 1993 up to late 1994 with a few gaps. My favorite era of Groo, beginning with the 1st appearance of Rufferto (21 issues with no gaps) 27 utterly random books that only I could be excited about 10 run-filler issues of Alpha Flight 22 classic Bronze Age Archie books 7 Silver Age Superboy books 7 Silver Age Star Trek books Can't remember the last time I spent this much on comics. Felt good. And, best of all, I had my partner in crime's help (most of those Archie books were for her):

You have marriage Jeff and comic Jeff. You're letting them, COLLIDE ! It will be another Crisis on infinite Earths! Beware !

As i was visiting my parents in Las Vegas for Thanksgiving, I went to 4 different comics shops for their Black Friday sales... goose egg. Nothing at these shops stuck my fancy. Came home to my LCS and picked up these fun books at 30% off. I believe Crimebuster is the Daredevil guru. Is this the Frazetta issue? Also, some super early Adam Hughes covers. More to come tomorrow... as uncle Howard Chaykin says: "Trust me on this"
