Went to a comic store I hadn't been to before, and came out with some goodies at $2 each. I ended up with 12 issues of Archie I needed, plus 1 issue of Pep, 4 issues of Conan (including a nice #274), and 3 Conan annuals. Archie, NICE!!! Nice to see someone besides me that enjoys Humor books. Sometimes its nice to read a book that is not serious and makes you laugh instead of all the serious books. I collect and enjoy Sad Sack. I enjoy Archie Books although I do not currently collect them. I did purchase the Archie Wedding Issues when there were released just because I wanted to see what all the hype was about and if it was true. Because of the influence of Scott- err , Crimebuster, I've purchased some Archies and Sad Sack in the last year.

Used the last of the Lonestar credit I had to place an order yesterday, I will list specifics when it arrives, but got all the issues I needed to finish off the Capital and First runs of Nexus (got the 3 mag issues collected in the original Nexus tpb), the Hawkworld ongoing, Aztec Ace by Moench, REH's Cormac mac Art mini from Dark Horse, the Dark Horse Kull minis, Sleeper Season One (in tpb), and the one issue of Secret History I still needed (which came in stock after I posted Lonestar didn't have it earlier this week), plus a pile of issues of Conan the Adventurer, Marvel's 90s Conan series and Savage Sword of Conan to work on those runs.

Since starting my Star Wars review thread, I've been attempting to not buy any old comics. My rationale being that I've got more than enough awesome stuff to read while doing that thread, so I shouldn't need to expand my collection much until that thread is done. I actually did pretty well too, not really having bought any old comics since January. But predictably, I caved and picked up a nice bunch of things off of eBay a couple of weeks ago that I've been after for a while. I got.. Amazing Spider-Man #245 The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones #21 and #24 Civil War: Young Avengers & Runaways #1-4 Desperadoes: Buffalo Dreams #1-4 Marvel Tales #264 and #265 (reprinting ASM Annual #5) Marvel Team-Up #132

I haven't seen that Desparadoes one.. is that new-ish? No, not really. It came out in 2007. But it seems slightly more elusive than the earlier minis.

I picked up a Daredevil 170 last night, but I set it down on a table and some German guy wrote his name all over it.

I don't buy many old comics anymore, but found a copy of this book in an antique shop yesterday for three bucks. All Alex Toth (images are webgrabs, not my copy)

Completed my Dark Knight Returns run with issue 1, first print too. Stoked to get it.
Also, a run of Ms. Marvel with every issue except the Mystique appearances. Have they always been higher or just since the X-Men movies? At any rate, these books are all VF and I paid an average of $7 per issue which I did not think was too bad considering #1 is in real nice shape.

Those Mystique issues have always been higher than the others, but I'm sure her presence in the movies has helped elevate them even further. I luckily got mine before the movies, so I think I only paid $6 or $7 apiece for those ones.

Ya I think I will hold out for a bit on getting them. I more so wanted to scoop us some Ms Marvel before they go too crazy. I have always liked her character and being a big Captain Marvel fan, I wanted to get into the original series.

I was a big fan of the two earlier series, especially the Severin one. Going to have to track this down.

Found a copy of Richard Corben's Bloodstar at a used bookstore. Dust jacket is a little ragged and worn but everything else looks in good shape. Was this ever printed in colour?

This afternoon after church I went into Jim Hanleys Universe and they had a 90% off sale on their back issues. I had to laugh at the juxtaposition there..."So, right after church I ran out and bought a bunch of comics about pagan deities..."
