What was good about the '90s was mostly **nods to Scott** the end. Captain America Waid/Kubert What I would give to see these names on the book again I can probably count the number of Marvel Comics in the 1990s that I liked and weren't written by Waid or Busiek on one hand.

I forgot Mark Schulz's Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, another 90s highlight.

For me, at the time, it was the Hernandez brothers, Daniel Clowes, Julie Doucet, Seth, Peter Bagge, people like that. Also Alan Moore - I think his ABC line started in the late 90s, didn't it? And of course From Hell, but I didn't read that until it was collected, I believe in the early 2000s. In retrospect, there was a lot of good stuff coming out under the Vertigo imprint as well, but again I never read any of it until later on, in the 2000s. Mainstream DC and Marvel, nothing that I'm aware of, apart from a few isolated pieces by Steve Gerber (can't recall which ones came out in the 90s now and which were later or earlier). Nevada. I think Foolkiller was 1990. Gerber did Sludge for Malibu, but other than that it was a pretty quiet decade for him. I kn ow I've said this before, but I wish Gerber had done a sequel to Nevada. Sludge I never knew about at the time and still haven't read, though I have the back-issues now.

Am I the only one who repeatedly confuses Nevada with Omaha the Cat Dancer?

Well Claremont's run of Excalibur was during the 90s right?

There was a planned sequel to Nevada. There was even a short story in one of the Winter's Edge specials that said Nevada II was upcoming. I think something happened with the contract, and Steve decided to bail.
Sludge is very much Man-Thing-lite. It's amusing enough, but not first tier Gerber.

Post-COIE Superman still had a great head of steam rolling. Very underappreciated IMO and still some of my favorite comics. Up until TwoMorrows started their stellar fanzine kingdom 20 years ago, I didn't think I'd see the likes of something like Amazing Heroes again. One of my favorite fanzines. I wouldn't have believed it until I read it for myself after all the buzz I'd heard, but Animal Man was a great read. Who knew ?

What was good about the '90s was mostly **nods to Scott** the end. A resurgence of Bronze Age style at the Big Two is what drew me back into comics in that era. Starman Vext Chase Chronos

I really want shaxper to get to this era for his review thread, but I'm not sure I want him to endure any more issues of Action Comics Weekly.

I've actually been going back and improving the visibility of the earlier reviews before doing new ones. It doesn't look like anything's changed in the thread for the past month, but those reviews are now a lot easier on the eyes then they were when I first reproduced them from CBR. Nearly finished. Maybe another week. Batman, on the other hand -- it takes a lot more thinking to reconcile all the crap going on in Denny O'Neil's Bat Office, so I really have to have my head in the right space to do those reviews.

Mundane wise, my 3 children were born in the 90s...does that count ...which pretty much cemented the end of my marriage...so all in all the 90s was good for me.
