I bought my tickets for KK's Priest/Accept on Saturday. The new KK album is really good. It sounds like he went into the studio thinking "What does Doghouse Reilly want to hear?". Really looking forward to this show.

For any fans of early Megadeth, here's a great book with lots of pictures. This historical lookback covers mostly 80's era and I thought it was interesting to see the pictures of Mike Albert on guitar in the band (who toured but did not record with them) when Chris Poland actually quit in 1985 for several months before rejoining in time to record Peace Sells. You get some Jeff Young era as well along with Chuck Behler replacing Gar on drums (I always did like Chuck!) and then right up to Marty joining the band per below. It's out of print now (was lucky to grab this new), but it looks like patience and the right eBay seller might yield a much more reasonable price than the gougers trying to sell this for hundreds of dollars on places like Amazon. Definitely recommended! powerhousebooks.com/books/megadeth-another-time-a-different-place1/Posted in the "tidbits" thread as well:

If you're looking for the kind of metal offered by the likes of Accept and Judas Priest (that is, the best kind of metal), then you can't do better than catching Accept and KK's Priest on their current tour. Tornillo was such a good choice to be the new voice of Accept back in 2010 or thereabouts. He's so different from Udo that comparisons between the two don't cloud your enjoyment of their Udo-era songs. Owens, singing for KK, on the other hand, is too similar to Halford to not cause a little discomfort hearing the Priest songs done not-quite with Rob's voice. Still, the guy's very talented and doesn't let the inevitable Halford comparisons stop him from peppering the whole night with impressive shrieks and screams. The guitar heroes at the center of both bands were everything you'd want them to be. I'm pleased that they used The Sinner as KK's showcase number. We were there for three and a half hours, but it went by so fast.

Woohoo, Judas Priest again this summer, tonight! I hope the sound at this venue is an improvement over the last one. I had to choose between Priest and Udo, but Udo is general admission. If I could have the opportunity to sit as I needed, I would have went with Udo. He is playing again tomorrow, and much closer to home, but the venue sounds really crappy.
