Amazon Studios is developing a television adaptation of Criminal, the hit comic book series written by Ed Brubaker and illustrated by Sean Phillips.
According to Deadline, Amazon is currently "finalizing deals" for a small-screen adaptation of the bestselling crime series, which will presumably stream on Prime Video. Brubaker is attached to serve as both executive producer and showrunner of Amazon's Criminal. While additional details are scarce at the moment, the project is described as an "interlocking universe of crime stories based on [Brubaker's] award-winning comics." A writers' room is said to already be "up and running," though Amazon declined to comment on Deadline's report. Brubaker previously co-created the Prime Video crime miniseries Too Old to Die Young, which dropped in 2019.
