Comics Hub said I am due to get:
Gotham City Year One #6 (final issue) Hellboy in Love #4 Invincible Iron Man #4 Parker Girls #6 Unbreakable Red Sonja #5 (final issue? end of an arc at least, not sure if it's an ongoing or mini; I know Jim Zub is doing Conan, so not sure if he's staying with Sonja too)

Stargirl #5 I have been enjoying this series more than the new JSA series that launched at the same time. At first I was dubious of the idea of even more sidekicks but the story has pulled me in. It has a fun feeling yet a dark undertone that doesn't overwhelm the story.

Action Comics #1053Written by Philip Kennedy Johnson and Dan Jurgens Art by Rafael Sandoval and Lee Weeks Summary: Superman and his extended family battle a slew of anti-alien radicals that were transformed into monsters by Metallo. Plot: Action Comics continues to succeed in two out of three of its features as Johnson's main story "Unmade" with the Superfamily facing Metallo and Dan Jurgens "Home Again" with a young Jon Kent are both thoroughly enjoyable while the Powergirl feature is so unreadable I just didn't even attempt to read it this month. In "Unmade" I really loved the mix of action and heart that Johnson managed to bring to the page, we had some great fight scenes with Metallo's mercenaries facing off against the Superfamily while still managing a fantastic scene where Superman talks about why it's just as important to render medical aid to the mercenaries as it is to stop them. It was just a perfect scene about balancing power with mercy to do what's right which is a huge part of Superman's character. And in Jurgens' "Home Again" we continue to get a fun story of a young Jon Kent getting up to surper-heroic hijinks as he attempts to save an alien princess from a robotic menace. There's mystery, action and just an over all pleasant feeling of innocence to the adventure that brings to mind that nostalgic coming of age feeling I associate with the likes of Tom Sawyer or Treasure Island. And well, after two disappointing and needlessly convoluted entries of Powergirl I just decided I was going to close the book on her feature so I don't know if it got any better here...and I don't really want to find out. Still, two out of three ain't bad. Art: Overall, I prefer Sandoval's more detailed art in the first story, but Lee Weeks turns in a great set of visuals in the second feature as well which makes the book look great from start to finish. Grade:8/10

I agree with the above review on Action Comics. The first 2 stories were great. The Power Girl story was awful.

Ram V's Detective comics continues to be as slow as molasses. What's frustrating is that the writing is actually, good; the characterization is multi-layered, the dialogue has punch and there's a fair bit of action...but it all just goes nowhere. We're on the ninth chapter and there's no clearly defined threat yet. I just don't get how an editor looked at this and was like, "Yeah, let's go to print with this."

It's Jeff!
Written by Kelly Thompson Art by Gurihiru Summary: Experience a year in the life of Gwen-Poole's pet landshark, Jeff, as he has various adventures with all his Avenger friends. Plot: I remember seeing sketches of Jeff hanging out with various Marvel heroes last summer at a con I went to but I didn't think much of it beyond, "Okay, that's a cute shark with Captain America. Weird." But now that I've actually experienced the story behind the little shark I can't get enough. shaxper ,if you're looking for a new book to try out with your son I can't recommend this book enough, it's told completely with out words so it's an incredibly quick read but its newspaper funny page like structure is just so well done that it's totally worth it. The short adventures, usually only lasting about two to three pages and tell stories that range from simple visual gags like classic Garfield strips to small, heart warming day in the life pieces and cute Holiday themed "specials" that are sure to leave you smiling. My favorite feature was the story about Jeff befriending a family of stray cats after first scaring a cat out of a fish store, it was equal parts silly and then adorable. This one shot is apparently a collection of the various shorts that were originally published exclusively on Marvel Unlimited and it ended with an advertisement for a second season available on Marvel Unlimited and I think I might need to renew my subscription to read more as it really was just that good and while I'm there I just might need to check out Thompson's run on West Coast Avengers (where Jeff first debuted) because this was just so much fun. Art: There's not much more to say about Gurihiru's art other than it's utterly adorable! Every panel is clean and the intention is always perfectly easy to see which is a must when the story is being told 100% through the art. Grade: 10/10...seriously go pick this up right now!
