I've just read way too much Robert Howard and sword and sorcery in general  Snakes, snakemen, snake worshipers, snake cults, serpent gods, etc. are always the bad guys  -M I dunno Lady Sylvia Marsh didn't look "bad" to me ..... Yes, and see how MRP intentionaly omited snakewomen in his list of no-no's? Deep down he knows. Maybe he's concerned with the phallic implications?  On that note my fever is down to an acceptable 38.4° and the very thought of solid hot food doesn't revulse me anymore. Well there are no external biological differences between genders on snakes and since snakes are reptiles and don't give live birth, there's no mammary glands to make a snakewoman look any different than a snakeman (bad horror movies that lack verisimilitude not withstanding-I think I saw that film once in college but have intentionally repressed the memory). So snakewoman, snakemen, snakepeople in general, all bad! -M |

Biologically speaking none of those woman would be reptiles. Sorry. Artistic license and all, I get that,but the basic biology has to be right and it's not.

I finished all of my teaching related obligations for the semester and now I'm getting ready to enjoy being off* until January!
*Except for all of the prep I need to do for the Spring and the new pieces I need to finish for a small exhibition I'm putting together. I guess it's going to be more of a working vacation.

Thanks. We're doing "together" gifts this year, both from the girls and for the couples. In past years, they have each spent a couple of dollars per person, and it is usually dollar store tchotcke crap, so we wanted to get people something nicer without breaking the bank. It's just hard getting them to agree on anything. |
