(See the Advance Warning before participating) Nominations for Favorite Classic Comic (non-review) Thread1. Please post no more than one nomination for your favorite classic comics thread in our ninth year of the CCF (between April 30th, 2022 at 9:22pm EST and April 30, 2023 at 9:21pm EST). You can view all eligible threads here2. You must explain why you are nominating this thread. This is the blurb that will end up in the CCF Hall of Fame if it wins! 3. Please second no more than one nomination made by another member. You may not second your own nomination. 4. Any thread that has previously won this award should not be nominated again unless it has done something especially different in the past year that is worthy of note. It is a given that past winning threads continue to enrich the community. Let someone else have a turn 5. Any thread receiving both a nomination and a second will be included in the final ballot for this award on May 24th. 6. Nominations and Seconds for this round conclude on May 9. 7. Absolutely NO negative talk about another thread, its participants, nor another member's nomination. The very purpose of this event is to salute our members and discussions for all they contribute to this community. Though only one member will ultimately receive this award, you have the potential to thank and maybe touch any member you choose to nominate or second. Please don't use this opportunity to hurt or deflate someone. So start your nominating!

I really enjoyed "New" characters you thought were going to be big but werent. It was a celebration of all that could have been, an exploration of forgotten characters (some deservedly so, and some less so), and a laugh at our own past foolishness in what we thought would be huge but inevitably wasn't, all in one thread.

I second. It was indeed a cool, though bittersweet, journey into the past... and into a future that could have been.

I nominate Favorite underachieving 70's title by dbutler69. It was fun reliving those 70's books.

So I don't think this is a review thread, but I may be wrong-I find it is more exploration of comics in their timeframe than reviews, but if it's not eligible, just let me know...
I'd like to nominate Exploring the Eisners started by commond. Often times books that win awards are just titles in lists and unless you are already familiar with them it's hard to get a sense of what they are and why they were special enough to get nominated or win such awards. Commond's thread fleshes out those names on the lists, putting a little meat on them, examining not only the books, but the books in context with each other to reveal not only what was special about those books but what they say about the industry/market as a whole for the time period they won.

Well, I 'll wait and see if it gets seconded here, and let that be the determining factor if it is seen as a review thread or not. -M

I'm nominating Hoosier X for a long-running, funny, affectionate look at classic Batman: 'You Got Some Batsplainin' to Do!': A Thread for Batman Fans.
This isn't a review thread; far from it, as Hoosier always finds something to enjoy no matter how bad a particular story might seem to someone else.
The thread takes a Mystery Science Theatre approach to comics that to some members may seem prehistoric and primitive. However, Hoosier's unabashed love for all things goofy and illogical shines through and reveals how charming and irresistible their old-fashioned innocence can be.
Always a welcome lift when the dark and gritty stuff starts clogging up the forums.

However, you seconded two nominations that had already been seconded, so technically you can still do it one more time. Just want to make sure you understand how this works.

I'm going to go with @jaska 's "Would You have a secret identity?"thread. It's one of the age old questions of super hero comics and it really brought me back to those nostalgic playground conversations of my youth.
