(See the Advance Warning before participating) Nominations for The Jasper Sitwell Award (Best New Member)1. Please post no more than one nomination for the new member who you felt added the most to our community in our ninth year of the CCF (between April 30th, 2022 at 9:22pm EST and April 30, 2023 at 9:21pm EST). 2. You must explain why you are nominating this member. This is the blurb that will end up in the CCF Hall of Fame if they win! 3. Please second no more than one nomination made by another member. You may not second your own nomination. 4. Any member that has previously won this award should not be nominated again unless they have done something especially different in the past year that is worthy of note. It is a given that past winning members continue to enrich the community. Let someone else have a turn  5. Any member receiving both a nomination and a second will be included in the final ballot for this award on May 24th. 6. Nominations and Seconds for this round conclude on May 21st. 7. Absolutely NO negative talk about another member, nor another member's nomination. The very purpose of this event is to salute our members and discussions for all they contribute to this community. Though only one member will ultimately receive this award, you have the potential to thank and maybe touch any member you choose to nominate or second. I nominate Myke Gee . Although Mike registered in October 2021, his first post was May 29, 2022, so I argue the initial posting is the first real mark of membership. From his first post, he has felt like a longtime member of the Forum. He came prepared with a substantial collection of month-by-month Marvel reviews that has fueled a much-enjoyed and active thread and dived in deep, participating in the Forum Zoom meetings where his personality, sense of humor, well-founded opinions, knowledge of so many comics and creators, and spirit of good will and community-building have made him a tremendous pleasure to interact with. I've been happy to have another Mike G. in the CCF, and I'm honored that his first engagement in our community was in one of my threads. He would be a very worthy recipient of the Jasper Sitwell Award! |

I'm a new member all right, but I'm not really a good member--most of you probably didn't even know I was here. I initially tried to drum up some interest in the Warren comic magazines (CREEPY/EERIE/VAMPIRELLA), but I'm not really into traditional comic books per se, so I ended up mostly posting in the Rock/Metal thread whenever Leo Moracchioli released a new cover.  Nice that someone noticed, though... |

I'm a new member all right, but I'm not really a good member--most of you probably didn't even know I was here.
