Having just read Shazam #27... they do say they #28 is the first 'modern' Black Adam appearance in the nexy issue box, and the letters made it seem like the series started with re-prints... that art style is VERY different from the ones I read, which were very much modelled after the cartoon.

Shazam #8 seems like a good bet. GCD shows that it does reprint the story from Marvel Family #1. That was Black Adam's only Golden Age appearance, so that kinda narrows things down. After a few minutes research I came to the same conclusion. Here's the cover, maybe it looks familiar to Starscape:

That's it! I remember the circles on the cover! At only 5 yearsold, this is the earliest comic I remember reading. Plastic Man 12 was the other. That was about strip joints but that completely passed over my young head.
Thanks a million!

I should know this, and am almost 100% it exists and I own it, but didn't Dark Horse do a story (I think DHP) about the alien species that was the deceased inhabitant of the derelict space craft in ALIEN? I distinctly remember a species finding at facehugger and capturing it in a specimen case. He kind of reminds me of the alien in Swamp Thing #9. Does anyone know the issue this story is in, or if I am imagining it?

It's been a while since I read these but it might be either from Aliens: Book One which was the original Alien miniseries by Dark Horse in 1988 or Aliens: The Alien which was its direct follow up and originally published in Dark Horse Presents #56. I don't remember a scene like the one you described exactly, but they were called the collectors by the humans as it was thought they collected Alien eggs, either way they looked like this: which I guess does resemble this:

I guess I mistaken a specimen case with his "ray gun" that he vaporizes like 20 aliens in one shot, now that I remembering the story. I had forgotten that it was in ALIENS Vol. 2. The DHP issue I am thinking is where human meet the space jockey and he like telepathically tells them the story of meeting the aliens maybe. I'll have to check them out when I get home. Thanks guardian. :thumb:

Hello!
I just registered, to add another identification request to this thread (I hope this is not too impolite):
I bought two volumes of a comic book in the late 80s or early 90s, in Austria, probably a European (French?) comic, either in English or German translation (sorry, I do not even remember this). It was slightly "adult" oriented (not pornographic, but as far as I remember not suitable for children), medieval/fantasy setting. Contents: A king has some birds with rings on their feet (?) locked up in a tower(?), his daughter sets them free by mistake, thus bringing doom to the land (don't know how/why). The king sends the princess away to recover the birds, only accompanied by a young page. The two volumes I had did not progress the story much, there was a bit of erotic tension between princess and page, and some low level adventuring. I think at the end of the second volume they set sail for the orient.
I would be grateful if somebody recognizes this series and could post the name here. Thank you.

I'm not able to help with this one, but no, joining just to ask a question is not impolite at all. We just hope you'll decide you like us enough to stick around a bit

Possibly? : it's from the 80's, and had a handful of 48 page issues published.

Bert, thanks for the suggestion! However, the comic I am looking for is not the "quest for the timebird" (which I happen to know, not as a comic, but as computer game (Amiga, 1980s)).

Thanks guardian. :thumb: You have it right: the elephant-headed alien was pursuing the aliens out of a sense of revenge (the telepathic exchange was at the end of Aliens vol. 1). We also learn that it's not quite as benevolent as its alien-killing activity might suggest; in fact, now that Earth is overrun and on the verge of being sterlized by nuclear bombs, it probably intends to wait for the ash to fall down and colonize the place! Much, much more interesting than the Engineer nonsense from Prometheus.

Can you give a bit more information? How was the drawing style? Realistic/cartoony?

You have it right: the elephant-headed alien was pursuing the aliens out of a sense of revenge (the telepathic exchange was at the end of Aliens vol. 1). Much, much more interesting than the Engineer nonsense from Prometheus. Ive read much of the Aliens franchise from comics to novels to fan fiction, video games; they've all long surpassed that crap Ridley Scott's started, and all melded into my head together. Aliens Vol 1, I had forgotten that it was a part of the story. I was thinking that the space jockey had shown up in a seperate story. I'm thinking there's probably more beside this and what guardian mentioned, but that may only come to me by looking through all my DHP.
