Have to say I actually like the statue. I haven't gotten to the point in the comic where this is her new look, but I like the black & white treatment here...

I honestly didn't know anyone was still making statues. I thought that age had come and gone.
It's gorgeous. Not an iteration of the character I feel strongly enough to own a statue of, but a true beauty, nonetheless.
So what do collectors of statues do with them once they've bought their eleventh one and realized all their shelf space is full? Do they just keep these things sitting in boxes?

I have a whole room devoted to my collection and I have run out of space, so action figures, pint glasses and other collectibles get boxed and put into storage, but the statues stay on display. I have two new shelving units I am getting from IKEA, to put more on in our master bedroom. I have several Sideshow DC statues coming this year, so I need more top shelf space. I would rather display statues than figures, because I keep almost everything in the box, except statues...;-)

...and I agree...not my favorite rendition of Batgirl, but one that I will pickup...more because it seems like an addiction...a friend once told me...when you get into statues, it is a slippery slope and you find yourself neck deep in collecting them, once you start....man was he right! I started statues several years ago...and immediately jumped from the smaller ones to get both the smaller statues and the Museum quality 1/4 scale DC COllectibles...and here I am now with SIdeshow Premium format....it becomes bit of a snowball.

I saw a statue once that I strongly considered buying. It was the Silver Age Barbara Gordon Batgirl. And if I ever saw the right Kitty Pryde or New Teen Titans statue, I'd probably give in. But between my comics and robot toys already taking up maximum shelf space, I have no idea where I'd put a statue anyway. I just can't fathom storing away something that I've bought solely because I enjoy looking at it. It's not doing me any good in a box  |

Yes, for me action figures and pints are all the "extra" fun, but can go into storage after a while. Statues are a different story. Love having them on display. Everyone who knows me knows I collect. When they come to the house they want to see "The Room". It is funny to see folks reaction...not sure if it is the shock of the sheer volume of stuff I have actually on display or the horror that I am in my 40's and still spend lots of money on this stuff...lol. So until we build our new house in a few years, some stuff has to go into storage. The new house plans have a room twice the size I have now, so I can actually put everything out. At that point, anything that doesn't fit into that room, is going to have to go. I have kind of started scaling back on action figures...once the MOTUC line is done, I probably will be done with anything from Mattel. Hasblo wants to charge near $15 for their 3.75" Star Wars series, so I am going to drop that line. I cannot justify paying that when I can get a 6" DC Collectibles for about $18-22. So other than DC gear and accessories, I will probably be solely into DC Collectibles stuff and Sideshow statues. I love collecting, but my interest is waning a bit. All of these changes DC keeps making is getting tiresome, so at some point, I am going to scale way back on my comics and just focus on a few titles and collect based on that.
