Small week. Just World's Finest #18. Probably wait until next week to pick it up. I didn't think I needed yet another, "The first time Batman and Superman met." story but I actually enjoyed this. I don't think it'll be my head canon for their first meeting but it certainly wasn't a boring rehash.

Groot #4Written by Dan Abnett Art by Damian Couceiro Summary: Things look bad in the battle between Mar-Vell and Agz until Yondu and Groot come to the rescue. Plot: While this was ultimately more of a Captain Mar-Vell story strangely wrapped up in a Groot feature it was none the less a fun read. While it lacked the humor I usually look for in a Groot book it had a lot of swashbuckling action and heart to it which made me enjoy this book more than any other attempt I've made at getting into a Captain Mar-Vell book. Like Green Lantern, Mar-Vell is a character I've always felt I should like as I enjoy police procedurals and sci-fi and he has a really awesome atomic age aesthetic that I love but again like Green Lantern the actual comics have never appealed to me. And while this book isn't likely to change that feeling it's definitely a book I'm glad I picked up. Art: I really enjoyed Couceiro's cartoony look, it gave the action scenes a much lighter tone than a more realistic take would have which made them fit better with the funnier Groot elements. Grade: 7.5/10
