Ghost Machine. from Image Comics. A new imprint from well known creators. This special highlights upcoming series. First is GEIGER from Geoff Johns and Gary Frank. There has already been a mini series with this post WW3 character that suffers from radiation that makes him isolated from other survivors. REDCOAT from Johns and Bryan Hitch. A British soldier becomes immortal in 1776. This is historical fantasy. Then ROOK by Johns and Jason Fabok. A Sci fi series that takes place on a colony planet. ROCKETFELLERS by Peter Tomasi and Frances Manapul. A family from the 26th century placed in 2024 by a time travel witness protection program. And HYDE STREET by Johns and Ivan Reis. A horror series. All except Rook look good enough for me to check out the various series when they launch in April thru summer.

I had previously been enjoying Orlando's Spider-Man 2099 but this recent issue was a step down for me. While the previous issues explored really fun characters like Werewolf by Night and Dracula this latest issue went with a character who always annoyed me: Terror from the short-lived book Terror Inc. from the 90's. It was a weird concept to begin with; a contract killer who becomes more powerful by taking parts of his kills to empower him and it didn't get any better here as nothing was changed in his 2099 version which really kills the fun of the 2099 concept. Oh well, in a sort of anthology like book like this I suppose not every issue will be a winner but it does point to a sort of fatal flaw of the run with Dracula, Werewolf by Night and Zombies/ Blade already covered what other supernatural Marvel characters are there left to explore?

read my DC pull first this week (maybe 2 or 3 weeks).. Titans: Beast World Has been pretty good overall, but not without its issues. I like that they seem to have given the Titans a power up (or perhaps more correctly put them back to where they belong, though it does seem Starfire is way stronger now, and maybe Cyborg too).
I think it's funny how Peacemaker is drawn to look like Cena now (haven't we figured out that doesn't help after 20 years?), and I'm not really liking where the story is going... heroes trying to save the day anyway when people hate them as been done to death.
I do like seeing a world threatening even run by the Titans though.. that part is fun.
I also decided to give Action Comics a chance even though I am no a bizzaro fan, and it was pretty good.. nice twist to his usual story.

I really loved the twist in Action Comics, not sure about the one in Beast World. I thought the whole Dr. Hate bit was bad already...but if that's not a fake out why does she even need a helmet?
