I'm not some "X could never beat Y!" freak (well except for Spider-Man continuously humiliated by Tarantula...). I know well that the winner is decided by the writer. I'm happy for the story to entertain me.
But I remember being very irritated to see Superman struggling against Venom or Wolverine easily beating Lobo in "DC vs Marvel".

The amalgam concept I don't see at all: if you like one or both of the characters, why would you want to see them watered down by being combined with another character. And if you don't like them, why would you want to see them at all, whether alone or in combination with something else? Was there ever a finer moment than "Paste-Eater Pete" (Paste Pot Pete and Matter-Eater Lad)?

Spider Boy was probably the coolest character.

I really enjoyed the Challengers/FF mash-up, so natural with the Kirby connection and likeness to each other. I would have read more of this.

It's gotta be frustrating when a prestige package like the Amalgam book has to leave one issue out.

As usual with me, the DC characters as a rule don't attract me so there'd have to be something extra to get me interested, e.g. a favourite artist like Perez on JLAvengers. Even then I have to mentally hold my nose to enjoy even the artwork because the DC stuff is often such a turn-off, as the Superman-worship was for me in that miniseries. The amalgam concept I don't see at all: if you like one or both of the characters, why would you want to see them watered down by being combined with another character. And if you don't like them, why would you want to see them at all, whether alone or in combination with something else? But it's so fun! If you haven't read any of the Amalgam one shots, give a couple a try... SuperSoldier, Bruce Wayne: Agent of Shield, Spider Boy, Doctor StrangeFate... those are all great with some really stellar art!

I’m looking forward to reading this Onnibus. But it’s been so long I started to wonder if there were Amalgams of the Dc/Marvel villains?

Given their names, perhaps Dr. Fate and Dr. Doom should have been the pairing.

If JLX is left out, wouldn't the Magnetic Men also be left out for the same reason?
