plus last week's stuff as I did not get to the shop last week. -M

I got the following comics on Tuesday:
Action Comics #1064: The House of Brainiac
Green Lantern #10: House of Brainiac tie-in
Suicide Squad: Dream Team #2
Action Comics #1064 is not bad! I had pretty low expectations, but I haven’t read modern Superman comics for a very long time, and I thought a cross-over called the House of Brainiac had at least a chance of being passable. And it was even somewhat better than that.
Green Lantern #10 has a main story that does not involve the House of Brainiac tie-in. I might not have bought it if I had known that the tie-in is a back-up story with Guy Gardner and Lobo, a couple of characters of whom I’ve had my fill many many years ago. But I actually enjoyed it. (Not enough to keep reading any series with Guy or Lobo when House of Brainiac ends.)
And I liked the Suicide Squad issue also. Most of the Bizarro panels are cracking me up.

This is what I picked up at the LCS today, 2 weeks worth of books. I grabbed Batman/Dylan Dog #1 and 2 (2 came out this week) because I've seen a lot of positive buzz from creative folks who tastes align with mine. and the this was the Thurian (i.e. Age of Kull) map variant for the most recent Conan issue that came in this week... I would have bought a poster or print of just the map had it been available. -M

The kids from the 80s D&D cartoon make a cameo on the Alex Ross cover to this week's Dr. Strange #14. That's them on the left side of the cover, mostly with their backs to the "camera" but you can see Hank, Bobby, Eric, Presto, Sheila and Diana. I don't see Uni, but I think that's Dungeon Master a few paces ahead of them, but he's wearing green instead of red. -M

Action Comics #1064. Awesome issue! Braniac is back! I like seeing the whole Superman Family in Action (pun intended). However I'm just not crazy about the Chinese Superman and the Super Twins. Great to see Superwoman again

Fantastic Four #19. What a fun issue. Great story with Alicia front and center. Loved the old fashioned private eye style of story. More stories like this would be great.

Great to see Superwoman again Good to hear.. I don't love braniac and was on the cusp of dropping this, but maybe I'll stick with it. I actually really liked Kong and would love a Justice League of China book, but I agree with the Super Twins, they do nothing for me..seems mostly a nod to the TV show.

- Batman/Dylan Dog #2 - Batman: First Knight #2
Batman/Dylan Dog continues to be the one of the best sleeper DCU books this year. It's so well written and beautifully drawn. I know enough of Dylan Dog from reading the old Dark Horse reprints to understand the character.
Haven't read First Knight yet. I'm excited to get into it.

Great to see Superwoman again It seems to be playing heavily on Johns big Brainiac story from 2008 so far but there is room for it to be more of its own thing.
