Part of me appreciates that they put him in a variation of his classic yellow and blue costume.
Part of me is thinking 'Wow, John Byrne was right'.
This looks like it could be fun.

is that the ruins of the 20th century fox logo in the back of the fight scene? I'm not sure I really have any interest, but I might be curious enough to stream it.

Saw this yesterday with my daughters, and this was the first R-rated movie in the theater for either of them.
They hadn't seen either of the first two Deadpool movies, so they weren't quite sure what to expect, but I did, and it was exactly as I anticipated. Lots of crude humor, lots of swearing, lots of violence, but very often funny as all get out. We had a fantastic time and are making plans to go back in a couple of weeks to see it again.
My younger daughter's observation was that even though this was violent, it was more "cartoony" violence, and that Netflix's Daredevil was far more disturbing because it was "way too real" in terms of the violence, particularly the effects of the damage on Matt's body. She said that this "just looked fake, so it didn't bother me", which I'm not sure how I feel about coming out my 16-year-old daughter's mouth.

Just got back from the theater that was fun! Wish I could have picked up one of those Deadpool popcorn buckets.

When you have two characters that can't die and heal quickly from their injuries, it becomes tame in comparison to shows like Daredevil.

Still hitching a ride on my son's Disney+ subscription, I got to see the film yesterday. I laughed out loud a few times, but altogether I thought it wasn't as good as the first two. The surprise of hearing heroes swear so much or stabbing each other in the crotch gets old quickly, and there was zero emotional involvement. Even the redemption aspect was lost on me, because Deadpool himself never got me to believe there was any depth to his character and Logan has had so many of these moments before that the effect is diluted. Plus, given the tone of the movie, I never believed for one second that either of them would die. What truly thrilled my inner nerd were the countless cameos and the constant breaking of the fourth wall, especially the many barbs aimed at Fox and at Disney itself. I laughed out loud when Deadpool explained why Logan wasn't shirtless. "He's gonna say it..." was also a great joke, which was alas spoiled for me because of the interwebs. My fault, I shouldn't have watched anything related to the film before seeing it. I'm also tired of villains with insane amounts of power and zero imagination. If she wants to play God so bad, why doesn't Cassandra Nova just do it in a particular timeline without wasting time destroying all the others? Why does Thanos solve malthusian problems by killing half the population of the universe instead of doubling its resources? Why didn't Wanda just ask for Dr. Strange's help in finding a universe in which her counterpart had just died, thus allowing her to replace her and make everyone happy? Anyway... This was advertised as zany and fully assumed fun for comic-book geeks, and that's exactly what it was. It just wasn't anything more.
