Seems wrong not to do a Star Wars poll on 4th May. Which Stormtrooper series would you like to see published, if it were entirely your choice? I’ve listed four obvious choices. Obviously, “Other” is for the countless other specialisations. I can’t find anything definitive online that states the Emperor’s Royal Guards are taken from the ranks of Stormtroopers, but one book I owned (which I can’t find now) did state that the Guards were all taken from the ranks of Stormtroopers. Whatever the canon, I’ve included them here. I’ve voted for Emperor’s Royal Guards. Along with Jabba, Han Solo, Chewbacca and C-3PO, they were the figures I played with the most (I “reimagined” - not that I knew the word - the ending of ROTJ, with Han Solo and Chewbacca facing Vader and the Emperor on the Death Star). The Royal Guards have a real mystique to them, and look really cool visually, don’t they? Now, topics like this are hypothetical because, when one thinks about it deeply, there’s probably not much story to be told with the Guards. As far as I know, they never speak, and are almost always about bodyguard duties, although they may have some other more proactive duties. I haven’t seen a comic story about them. But they get my vote for their mystique, intrigue and rather threatening look.

Eh, one stormtrooper story is pretty much like the next. Kind of hard to top Valance, in the original Marvel series.

I voted other intending it to mean “none.” I’ve read less than a handful of Star Wars funnybooks. Stormtroopers would not even make the needle move on my complete disinterest.

Isn't that poll a little short for Stormtroopers?

I don't think it would cover a series, but a day in the life in a stormtrooper might be a fun one shot.

I don't think I read that series at all... its that the one that goes way into the future? I recall thinking it looked good but that was when I didn't really have a store or a pull list.

Yes, it's Luke's grandkids I think, iirc, but yes, well into the future. Also the series that introduced the concept of Grey Jedi that get so many fan's underwear twisted. -M

I don't think it would cover a series, but a day in the life in a stormtrooper might be a fun one shot. I wish The Walking Dead had done an episode from the perspective of a zombie. Sure, they don’t talk and are driven by instinctive, but I like seeing different things. So I’d definitely read a one-off day in the life story featuring a Stormtrooper.

Maybe the infamous head-bumping Stormtrooper? We could explore the medical care the Empire provides to its cannon fodder, explore the Death Star sick bay, find out about their physical competency testing, learn about any mandatory retirement policies... After all, bureaucratic detail made The Phantom Menace a big hit, right?

We've already had a lot of material show that for many of the characters in the Star Wars Universe, joining the Empire is the only way for them to be able to leave their homes (Valance, Han Solo, Luke, Biggs, Ciena Ree and Thane Kyrell) and a majority of them end up defecting. And even though he was conditioned as a child and didn't really sign up for it, Finn broke his First Order programming (alongside the others he finds on Kef Bir).
I suppose you could have a true believer stormtrooper, but I don't know if you'd really want to follow them for all that long. Anyways, I said other since I don't know if you could really do much more than has already been done.

There have been several stories written from a Stormtrooper's perspective. Garth Ennis and John McGrea did one in Star Wales Tales.
